Leo POV
I stood looking out at the beach for one final time. I was going to miss this place, the calm blue water, peaceful shores, and placid weather.
I snorted. Aw, who was I kidding. I wasn't going to miss this place in the least.
Stretching, I casually walked over to possibly the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.
"You ready to go, Sunshine?"
Calypso turned her striking brown eyes towards mine.
"As soon as you are, repair boy."
"Uh hu-"
I turned around, startled by the sound.
Immidietly I spotted a blond haired demigod washed up on the beach.I sighed. Wow. This guy had some great timing.
He stared at me, his evidently naturally tanned face ashen.
Self consciously I raised my hand to my face. Did I have some oil on me? Because wow, he was making a big deal.
I heard Calypso stiffle a laugh.
That was when I realized he was staring behind me.
Looming behind us was the shadow of a large gold dragon, gears creaking, gold shining fiercely in the sun.
It reached towards us, pushing its mighty head forward...
And creaked.
"Hey Buddy," I reached up to pet Festus, also known as our ticket out of here.
The demigod looked like he'd just swallowed a frog.
"Bu-but..." He trailed off, and immidietly landed face first in the sand.
Someone was going to wake up with a sunburn.
Calypso eyed the demigod.
"Should we wake him up?"
"Naw." I picked up Calypsos luggage and began piling it onto Festus.
"Leo..." She walked up to me menacingly.
I'm going go be quite honest with you, when she wants to, Calypso can be downright terifying. Not to mention, she's extremely hot when she's mad.
I raised my hands up in surrender and grinned at her.
"Fine."
_________
Fifteen minutes later, the bewildered demigod sat on the sand, casting terrified glances up at Festus from time to time.
"And there's the dingy." Calypso finished, pointing at the sagging and depleted looking dingy already stockpiled with food. We hadn't been able to find the raft, so we'd made do with what we had. My friends would've been proud.
The demigod, we had learned, was a son of Mars (at which I had snorted, because let's get real. Percy has more bravery in his pinky, meaning I must have way more bravery than him.) Named Fred who had come on a quest to slay something or other. I kind of zoned out at that time.
Of course, it took him several times to spit out his own name, much to our impatience and Festus' growing creaks of annoyance.
"So good luck finding Camp Jupiter, have fun, and may the odds be ever in your favor." I did my best Effie Trinket impersonation, and did the famous three fingered salute.
Leaving him open mouthed, I jumped aboard my flying dragon (I'm pretty proud to say that) and took Calypso by the hand.
Of course, she immidietly swatted me away and hopped on for herself, but hey, the thought was nice.
Taking a deep breath, Calypso wrapped her arms around me, holding on.
"Alright buddy. Let's go. Its time for me to see my favorite wonder table. Buford."
I nudged Festus forward, and we took off. Leaving Fred puttering along on his depressing dingy.
