An eerie calm, has set in over New York City. Apparently, some sort of aerosolised antidote was launched from Oscorp tower, which seems to have counteracted the biotoxins. Residents of lower manhattan can rest peacefully... knowing that the alleged mastermind of this terror plot, Dr Curt Connors, is behind bars.

Explained the news reporter on the tv as she started pouring herself, of what seemed to be, the 10th coffee of the night. Still waiting for Peter to arrive home.

And then the door clicked open, and he walked through. Aunt May had to hold back her shock, relieved that Peter was finally home.

He threw at her one of his goofy smiles and looked down. Aunt May was stuck on the spot, staring at all the cuts and bruises that lay upon Peters face.

As they walked to eachother and stopped, he gave her a knowing nod. As if to say that she knows.

Peter smiled down at her as he lifted his backpack off his shoulder and unzipped it. Revealing the eggs she needed a few nights ago, but he had forgotten.

She grabbed the eggs before wrapping him in a tight hug.

"Sweetheart, its all right" she said softly.

"its alright..."

Everyone stepped out of the chapel, black umbrellas bobbing up and down. The rain was pouring down and the sly was a gloom.

Bailey felt someone watching her.

She lifted my umbrella away from her view and she could have sworn she saw Peter, crouching on a small rooftop on the distance.

The realisation hit her that he wasn't at her fathers funeral. She felt betrayed.

She never wanted to admit it, but she had had fallen hard for the crime fighting vigilante everybody calls Spider-Man.

However, deep down she knew for the fact that he would never like her back. To him they were only best friends. They had been for years now, why would he want to ruin that.

She decided enough was enough, and made her way towards Peters. She was still felt betrayed but also confused as to why he wasn't with her. The one time she needed him, he wasn't there.

She made it to Peters house and rang the door bell.

Peter made his way to the door and saw Bailey through the glass. He slowly opened it and stepped towards her, closing the door.

"Where have you been?" she asked him sternly.

"Hi..." he replied instead of answering her question. He shook his head, avoiding eye contact with her.

She stood there for a while, trying to look into his eyes.

"My father died. There was a funeral. Everyone was there Peter. Apart from you. I needed you. But you weren't there. I had only just got him back in my life and now he's gone. Why werent you there for me? Even Flash showed up! Everyone was there, but you" she finished, pain and anguish in her voice as tears collected in the corners of her eyes.

They both stood there. Both knowing the conversation that was about to erupt.

He reached over and wiped a tear that was racing down her sunken cheek, trying to find what to say. The unsaid words forming a lump in his throat.
