35: Down from the Chopper

"So, it's your turn, now that I've already told mine." 

Paxton was staring at Selena, who was breathing heavily. "Right, er- Joe, you wanna?" Joe blushed and looked down, "No, you! I mean, no, you go ahead... I er- need to talk to Nick and Zayn for a sec..." He shuffled away.

Paxton snorted, "The dude okay?"

"He's fine, he's just- I don't think he's really good with strangers..." Selena trailed off, making Paxton cringe, "Strangers? But isn't he that guy... Well, no, I've never seen that Joe dude, but the other- Nick? Yeah, him, I think I've seen him before... What does he do?"

Selena shrugged, "Unemployed- but he's really rich. I mean, his dad's really rich, but I guess that makes him rich-"

"What does his dad do?" Paxton cut through Selena's babbling. Selena thought for a moment that said, "Oh, his dad was this CEO of a famous company- guess what he does?" And without waiting for an answer, "He made the goddamn wireless mouse! Like, DUDE! He made that thing? He deserves a medal." 

Paxton smiled, "I think so, too. I'm gonna go talk to him about what happened- is he nice?"

Selena stared at Paxton like he was some kind of joke, "Uh, if he wasn't nice, I would've ditched him long ago. What do you think!?" she snapped at him. Paxton raised his hands in the air and chuckled, "Woah, okay, yeah, gotchu... Come on, you're coming with me."

Paxton made his way over to where Nick was sitting with his brother, Zayn, and Harry, with Selena trailing behind him. He nodded his greeting, "Listen, I know that you don't have to listen to me- but I gotta ask you; what the fucking hell happened? Why's my sister here?" he asked Nick, hands on his hips. Harry was glancing around at everyone along with Zayn, sensing the tension.

Nick cleared his throat, "Well... It wasn't my fault your sister was here- I don't- I mean, I didn't have any idea what I was doing here in the first place until... well, we aren't friends, Selena and I, so when Joe and I were pulled up on that plane with Zayn and Selena, I was just a dumbfounded as the both of them. Well, I didn't like it, of course, I wanted to go to Hawaii for the week, but landed myself on a plane to Paris instead.៉​​" 

Nick laughed, but he was the only one who did. He realized this and cleared his throat again, "Right, erm... Somehow, we were supposed to do a lot of um, weird... Well, you could call it illegal- Believe me, it wasn't my idea. This guy called Axel Turner said something about my dad leaving secrets- and he mentioned your parents, too!" Nick added, seeing the disbelieving look on Paxton's face.

"Really," Nick continued, "I kinda didn't give a shit about what he was saying at the time, too, trust me. But that was until I found out that my dad was really keeping secrets from me and my brother," he said, darkly.
