It was the night before school started, September 3rd, 11:54 PM. Asmaa should've been sleeping in her 11x12 room. Dim light coming from the windows into the dark room, the moon shining bright.
Of course it was such a beautiful night, the cold yet relaxing breeze intruding through her window, making the curtains move in various directions. Even though it was the last night of the relaxation season, the weather and scenery made it a great night to be sitting in a balcony, reading a book.
A girl like Asmaa would definitely be on walk or as said, be sitting in the balcony, humming her favorite tunes. That's the type of girl she would be... if internet didn't exist. She moved her head up and down, listening to her music on her bed. She browsed through her social media, scowling at how her battery finished so quickly. She could've sworn she took it out of charger an hour ago. Frustrated, she jumped off the bed in her hello kitty pajamas, and plugged the charger into her phone. Now that she had nothing to do, she decided to go into her balcony.
Yes, she actually decided to admire the weather and fine scenery. She started to sing her favorite song and slowly started to sing out loud. ~{Ariana grande- honeymoon avenue}~ "~Boy, you got my heart beat stuck from bumper to bumper~ traffic I'm under pressure cause I can't have you~ the way that I want~~" she sang, leaning on the railing. "~They say only fools fall in love~" she completed. "~but they must've been talking about us~" she heard from below. She almost fell off the railing, the deep voice startling her. He chuckled, making her heart skip a beat, she smacked her face and cursed herself, for getting flustered about a stranger. She leaned in, her eyes widening at the sight. "~I could be wrong but I know I'm right~" Ian continued, a hand clutching at his chest and another raised in the air.
Asmaa tried to fight back a blush, that betrayed her anyways and covered her whole face. "~let's just go back to the way it was~" he sang, the finale. He bowed twice and took a few steps back, making him even more clear. He gave her a toothy smile, and waved at her, pulling his scarf down. "This reminds me of a Romeo and Juliet kind of thing, you know. Except you hate me with all your guts and I have no intention of suicide" he said. She let out a laugh and his face lightened up. "So you like that song huh" he said, breaking the silence between them. She nodded and brushed a few strands of her hair behind her ear.
"You're quite cheerful, responsive and quiet today. Considering the fact that school starts tomorrow" he mumbled. "I'm not quiet, just can't believe how un naturally cliché this is" she said, shaking her head. "JULIET, OH JULIET! I DONT KNOW THE WORDS BUT OH MY DEAR JULIET!" He screamed. She shook her head and told him to be quiet. "I THINK YOU LOOK CUTE IN THOSE PJS, DEAR JULIET!" He laughed. She looked down and blushed. She wanted to run back into her room but she had one question to ask him. "Do you live around here?" She asked. "Nope, sleeping over at my friends house, it's closer to the school I'm going to" he said. "I live across town, I am not taking a 40 minute drive everyday. So I'm staying here for the time being" he continued. He glanced at his watch and waved her goodbye. "Have a great day at school tomorrow, nice seeing you again!" He yelled, adjusting his bag strap. She waved back and ran back inside, jumping onto the bed. She looked up at the ceiling, currently sprawled on the bed. She tried to calm her racing heart, as she took a few deep breaths. She heard a couple buzzes from her phone and she got up to retrieve it. And back to her routine she went.
