Well, guess who has intrusive thoughts? This being.

All jokes aside, I am going through a rough patch. Probably having a mid-life existential crisis or something.

A few days back, something happened. Something that somewhat  opened my eyes. I-uh dreamt of the multiverse. Timelines are a fragile thing. Even an omnipotent being such as me is not in control.

Actions have consequences and the more changes you make, the more the butterfly effect takes hold. Some effects are good. However, some...

Me trying to change this timeline and protect Percy has affected things a lot more than I thought. Every major choice that is made, the universe gets thrown into a whole different timeline.

Take Zeus for example. If I had not helped Rhea, or if they got caught; the world would have never advanced and the Titans would have reigned forever.  And even if I had things restored, the past would never be the same. Thus, the future changes.

I snort. That was depressing.

However, I would have to be careful about messing with the timelines. Some of them, the one I saw, they would haunt my nightmares. And if they ever became reality? It would be better to implode the universe altogether.

I look at Percy playing in the park in his old locality. Sally didn't want to stay after she basically called me a self-serving monster. I guess I deserved it. Even though I had helped mortals, demigods and even gods in the past- Percy was the only time I stayed. Only person I had let myself get close to.

You're lying to yourself. Don't you remember Theseus? That little boy with brown hair who you let in. The one you used to make sandcastles with?

He was my brother. And I didn't want to lose him.

A brunette approached him, dragging him to the sandpit. They looked so carefree. They looked so similar.

I scoffed at myself. I had thought that being the ruler of the universe would be so fun.

Percy laughed as Thes-the brunette chased him around the playground. Percy fell and scraped his knee, the brunette rushing to his side. Do you get Deja Vu?

Immortality is a curse. Watching the world and those you love wither away. People you knew, turning into myths and humans twisting their memory into something unrecognizable. It was a lonely existence. One I was doomed to live for eternity.

Percy got up and smiled at the brunette, "It's just a scratch. I'm fine."
"Tis' but a scratch, sister. I'm fine."
Theseus says, pale from blood loss. Theseus fell, staining the earth red.

I walked away.
