Arguments

The day had been absolutely exhausting from start to finish and all I want is to get home to Perrie, take a hot shower, and sleep. When I arrive home I thought I'd be greeted with a kiss and a "how was your day?" Instead Perrie was sitting on the couch with her arms folded, an angry expression on her face and a magazine in front of her on the table opened to a random page.
"Where have you been?"
I stand in shock and confusion, not really sure what she was talking about. She knew I was working today.
"Uh... work?"
"Work? You're lying."
"What? Perrie I'm not lying to you. I was at work, you know that."
"No! You were out with another woman today."
I scoff and roll my eyes, denying that this was actually happening. She knows how faithful I am to her. I wouldn't dream of cheating on her.
"Oh come on Perrie, that's absurd. I was working."
"Oh really? Then what's this?"
She throws the magazine at me, the photo catching my eye. It was me holding hands with a woman, their back towards the camera but I could tell it was me with another woman.
"Perrie this is impossible. I was at work today."
"So you're a liar and a cheater?"
"Okay first of all I didn't cheat! Secondly, I'm not lying! I'm always honest with you and I wouldn't cheat on you!"
Both of our voices were raised now, both of us wanting to be heard by the other.
"Jeez Alex. You think I'm stupid?"
"What? No!"
I pick the magazine back up and look at the picture closely. That's when I see it... I knew who it was in that photo, I'd recognize them in a heartbeat. "Perrie. Have you looked closely at this photo?"
"Yes."
"So you know that it's you in the photo?"
She stands there speechless for a moment before she rolls her eyes and walks over to me, grabbing the magazine from my hands and looking closely at it. "Oh god. It is me... it's.. us."
We both looked at each other in silence, neither of us saying anything for a few minutes before we both just started laughing.
"Shit Al, I'm sorry. I can't believe I thought you cheated on me."
I shake my head, a smirk on my face.
"It's okay Pez. I forgive you."
I kiss her cheek and pull her into my arms. She hugged me back instantly, melting into my touch.
"I love you Al."
"I love you too Perrie."
