Polly's POV
So Thalia told me to sit here after school, on the stairs in front of the big glass doors that lead inside. I was waiting, getting a tad bit impatient, seeing as the bell rang 5 minutes ago. Watching everyone come out of the school and keeping an eye out for my friend, I tapped out math equations on the concrete I was perched on, the Morse code and math mixing to calm my overactive brain. Another minute passed before I saw the choppy black hair Thalia had done herself bobbing through the crowd of kids. She spotted me and smiled, dodging the teens and rushing over, plopping down on my left.
"Sorry I took so long, Alyssa's locker was overflowing and Mrs. Brown held us in a bit late," she apologized, a genuine smile gracing (sorry not sorry) her features. I smiled back, waving it off.
"It's fine Thals, I'm just curious as to why you asked me to wait here." She lit up a bit, posture straightening in excitement.
"My boyfriend's picking me up today!" She said with joy, an emotion I didn't see often with her. My mouth dropped open slightly.
"I thought he lived in New York?" I questioned. I had heard a lot about her boyfriend and he seemed really kind. He was a blonde haired blue eyed surfer boy who wanted to be a medic, though she never told me his name. He seemed to be really nice and awesome for Thalia, which I liked a lot. She was dating him and he had a boyfriend cause polyamory. I honestly didn't care as long as she was happy, which she was.
"I'm going back to New York this weekend, I'll be gone for two weeks. Him and his boyfriend are staying with me." I nodded, showing her I understood.
"Will you finally tell me his nameeee?" I teased, causing her to roll her eyes in a very Thalia way, causing me to laugh slightly. She opened her mouth, hopefully to answer my question, before a gasp ran around the courtyard and Thalia lit up even more, her eyes shining in the sunlight. I turned to see a black sports car, a decent model, with two people in it, one with blonde hair and one with brown. Thalia jumped up as the blonde person opened the door, causing me to stand up as well. A few people watched as Thalia bolted forward, a masc person who I assumed was the famed boyfriend stepping out of the car.
"Will!!" Her boyfriend, or Will, smiled as bright as the sun and ran forward slighting, catching Thalia in his arms. He twirled her around once before placing her down, kissing her hair as he was a few inches taller than her.
"Hey Thals," he said, and I saw the other person in the car smile. I walked to them, Will kissing Thalia sweetly and shortly, causing me to internally awww. Thalia looked up at him, no doubt a smile on her face, before turning around to see me.
"Will, this is Polly, the one who's been keeping me sane at this school." I wave with a smile as Will chuckles lightly.
"Nice to meet you," he says, placing his hand out and wrapping the other around Thalia's waist.
"Nice to meet you boyfriend, I've heard a lot about you," I respond teasingly, shaking his hand. He smirks, looking down to Thalia, who is sending me a glare. He kisses her black hair again as she flips me the bird, only making me laugh. The cars horn beeps, causing the three of us to turn to it. The other person, I believe Will's boyfriend, smiles at us.
"Sorry to stop the reunion, but Percy wants to see us at 7 and we all know how long it takes you to get ready babe," he says, flicking his head to Will. Thalia chuckles and hip bumps the taller boy.
"We'll be right there Nico!" Will calls back, signing something that makes the boy scoff and flip him off. Will turns back with a triumphant smile, looking to me.
"It was really nice meeting you Polly, thanks for keeping Miss Grace sane." I nod as Thalia punches him, blushing lightly. He leans in, whispering something into her ear which makes her face blossom into the shade of a rose. He laughs and bolts to the car.
"WILLIAM SOLACE!" She yells, running after him. I laugh at the antics of my friend, calling out after them.
"Use protection!! I'll see you in two weeks Thal!!"
