POV: Faris

'Oh. Here are the stares again. They're back and they're real,' I think to myself. 'I shouldn't have talked. Soon would come the squeals and the shrieks, and crinkles and frankles would form on my dads face'.

The throne room was white, in laid with gold, and light was coming through the ceiling drying my skin. rainbows flickered as people moved, dressed in glass jewellery and dresses of velvet and silk.

Sitting on a throne inlaid with gold sat the King, dressed as handsomely as everyone else discussing important matters over a long table covered in lace. The Duke sat next to me, his burrows slowly folding into one block of a mono brow. I sighed, well more like croaked. Frogs can't sigh can they? or can? or what? Anyways.

And there sat me. A lumpy puddle of mucus, drying away. I watched as ladies held their mouths in disgust and men give me nothing but a second glance.

'They've had enough of giving sympathy to my father, and had resorted to glances and gossip. Like this I was thought of as nothing but a second fly catcher.' 16 years had passed. The rest of my life like this? I wasn't so sure I was keen about that.

Tired to move, the window coincidentally in front of me created a clear view to the outside world. Webbed fingers pulled excess slime away from my glassy green eyes, and I prepared to space out.

The day outside was a sunny one, with morning dew still lacy on the grass. There was a pond outside, with lilly pads and tadpoles (not mine obviously ew.). Birds were chirping through the trees. rabbits and squirrels were hopping about and a big black bird cam...... A BIRD?? HEH WHAT

Squinting I gained a better view, and it was.... SHOCK HORROR

A girl.

Whoops not a bird.

Then it hit me like like a brick thrown to the face. She was Lillicia, the infamous daughter of the King. I had accidentally insulted the daughter of the King. 'Stupid,' I whammed my head on the table,'Stupid, stupid.'

 Whoops.

Wrong mistake. I had forgotten where I was. 20 pairs of eyes turned around and stared at me.

'What's stupid Faris? Would you like to make a contribution?' the King inquired.

Next to me the eyes of the Duke lifted. The eye brows separated. This was the whole point I was here. To sit into a meeting to see what it was like.

'I..uh.. had something in my eye..' I stammered.

The eye brows became one again.

'Oh is that so?' the King kindly replied. 'Well not then, on to the dollars and the taxes...'

And I spaced out again.
