*Gus' POV*

I almost had a heart attack when Penelope stumbled in my front steps.

Jesus christ.

Her dark hair was tangled, she didn't wore any make-up plus she looked drunk.

Like, hella drunk.

"Shit, Penelope!" I cursed and carried her inside my home.

I gently lay her on the couch.

"What happened to you?" I asked as softly as I could.

She looked at me with wide eyes and giggled. "Nick Lincoln happened. That's what happened."

I clenched my fists together. "What did Nick do you? Did he hurt you?"

Of course Nick wouldn't hurt a girl. Ot anyone for that matter.

Except that one time.

That one time he got mad two years ago. That one time I saw Nick angry.

It still gives me chills.

"Gusssyyyyy" Penelope wailed and swung her arms around my shoulder. I let her.

"Penny, it's midday. Why the hell were you drinking?" I gently grabbed her wrists and locked my eyes with her.

She couldn't meet my gaze. "Pen, look at me."

"Nooooo, I want Nick!" she began to cry. Fuck.

I didn't tell her that I already text Nick, instead, I let her cry in my arms. It was awkward.

"I-I just can-can't!" Penelope cried.

"Okay,Okay." I whispered and stroked her hair.

I heard footsteps and I knew Nick was here. I never minded when he just barged into my home. I always do it in his home.

"Penelope." Nick said rather unsure.

Penelope slowly looked up and impassively stared at Nick. Her eyes were puffy and her cheeks were red.

"I fucking hate you Nick!" she cursed but stood up to hug him tightly. Nick pat her behind her back and then held her at arms length.

"Penny, what happened?" He asked.

Noble Nick. Even though she beat him up, he still  cared for her. They were-after all- almost four years together.

I left the living room to give them some space.

I drank some coffee while they shouted at each other. Well, Penelope shouted. Not Nick.

He seldom shouts.

I took out my phone and I saw that I have a text from Tori.;

You still up for that movie or what?

^

It took Nick an hour and a half to calm Penelope.

Eventually, we drove her home with my car.
"Thank you, boys." Mrs.Rodriguez said with a kind smile. "I've been worried."

"It's no problem, Martha. Penelope is our friend." I said all nonchalantly.

She thanked us again and we got back inside the car.
I let Nick drive because I couldn't focus very well.

Tori.

"I saw Tori earlier." Nick said as we drove down the street.

"Can you read my mind?" I blurted out.
