"What the hell is wrong with you? Tell me" an angry-looking Ella burst into Maureen's room carrying a white document in her left hand and her purse clutched tightly on her right.

She was wearing a black slightly loose jean trousers and a lilac turtle neck with a colorful sweater and sandals, her blond hair fell on her shoulders and bounced as she made her way in front of her cousin who was sitting not in any way fazed by what just happened.

Daniel who looked frantic and pale stared at his boss and opened his mouth to speak when she raised her hand and indicates he leaves. With a half-scared half relieved look, he turned taking a look at the angry pregnant woman who almost got him into trouble then walked towards the door and closing it behind him.

"Explain the meaning of this nonsense," Ella said angrily again throwing the papers she was holding on the table right in front of Maureen.

Maureen looked well collected and not in any way pissed, she just looks at her cousin in a bored manner then raised a brow after a while of staring before looking down at the document and going through its contents.

When she finished reading it she relaxed back on her chair and looked at her cousin with a small smile.

"You're smiling? Maureen the-"

"I know" she cuts off whatever Ella was going to say "I know okay?"

Ella's face scrunched up in confusion as she sat on one of the chairs in front of her cousin, looking down and trying to understand the situation.

She knew, all this time? And she is all cool about it? Why? When did she know about it? Why isn't she taking it as seriously as she is supposed to? Why is she acting all cool and not bothered? Or...

She looked at her cousin with hurt written over her face and almost at the brink of crying. She started feeling all the tiredness of thinking about this issue overtake her whole being.

"You..." she swallowed "how long have you known this?" she asked looking at Maureen accusingly.

"For a while now" answered Maureen.

"You knew all this and didn't think it was worth telling me anything?" Ella raised her voice feeling the anger come back again.

"Look here Ella" Maureen leaned her hands on the table and leaned forward looking into her cousin's eyes with cold ones "don't you dare give me that look, that accusing look. I never did anything wrong in any way, so stop thinking bad of me" the words left her mouth cold as the Atlantic ocean.

"Then why didn't you tell me?" she asked.

"Because of this" Maureen pointed at her "because you are pregnant, Ella. pregnant. I do not want anything stressing you anyway, I know how critical your situation is and what any form of stress can cause, and" her features softened.

"I do not want anything to happen to the only family I have now" her eyes watered saying that.

She stood and walked around to where Ella was and sat on the table in front of her and held her hand in hers. She reached to wipe the tears that had already fallen on her cheeks with a soft smile.

"Ella, you are going to be a mom soon, concentrate on being that and let me handle this" she taps her hand lightly "please"

Ella looked away from Maureen's eyes to her chair in front of her. She could see the honesty and regret in her eyes.

Can she trust Maureen to handle this? Is she really repentant of what she had done in the past? Has she realized her mistake and wants to really turn a new leaf? Is this really Maureen? The Maureen she knows?

Although she had not straightforwardly said it but she could see the sincerity in her eyes and 'action they say screams louder than words.'

With a sigh, she nods wiping her eyes of any tears that came after then looked back into Maureen's eyes.

"Fine, I will let you be. You are right I need to focus on this child and growing my family" she stood up and distanced herself from her clutching her purse tightly "I... bye"

She turned and left the office closing the door behind her and out of the building trying to trust Maureen on this. It wasn't easy trusting Mauree, knowing her past and what she was capable of doing. She had to just let it be for now and see where this leads.

"Hopefully I don't regret this," she said and hailed a cab to take her home.

She cleaned her face of whatever tears might have fallen and took deep breaths in and out letting herself calm down.

"Now she trusts me, it would work out well" she let out a laugh and walked to the bathroom.

She stood in front of the mirror looking at her reflection. Her hair was still in place and so was her makeup. Her shirt had no rumples and she felt pleased.

Then she turned to leave but froze, whipping her head back to the mirror she spotted something on her neck, just below her ear. It was slightly red with a dull blueish coloring around it.

She placed her hand there and flinched a bit at the sting. Her brows were furrowed and confusion laced itself on her face as she kept looking at the bruise, wondering where it came from.

Then the realization hit her, her eyes widened and her face was drained of any color.

"Oh no," she muttered.

So guys I think it is all coming back to me... I just quoted Celine Dion's song. GOD, I love her.
