Chapter Twenty Three

"Is this the last I would be trying on?" Bethany asked already tired from trying so many dresses and many she meant the five dresses they made her wear.

The dress was a green off-the-shoulder floral gown that reaches mid-thigh, her twin paired it with silver stilettoes and a green purse.

"This is perfect then," Jessica said looking at Jade.

"Are yo- okay, this is it then" she clarified and they settled the bill then ushered her to a nearby beauty salon to get her hair, makeup, and nails done.

After that, they went to Jade and Zedd's place so the rest of the ladies can get dressed.

"Where are we going to?" she asked when they were dressing and would sometimes exchange looks she didn't understand.

"A wedding"

"A naming ceremony," Jessica and Rosalie said at the same time and looked at each other like they almost sold out the plan.

"We are going to the naming ceremony of a good friend of mine then we would do that thing you guy call in your language 'i heard, I branch and I eat' thing," Jade said.

Bethany laughed then turned to her siblings.

"I remember we used to do that back in Nigeria," she said

"Mo gbo, mo eka mo jeun" the three of them said together and laughed.

"Good old days," Jessica said.

"Yeah" Rosalie agreed.

"We need to be quick girls before the ceremony finishes," Jade said exchanging looks with Jessica and Rosalie.

"i took note that you girls were exchanging looks, what is that about?" Bethany asked with raised eyebrows.

"Nothing" the three of them replied at the same time.

"Okay, even though I don't believe you three. I will know at last" she said.

"Duh, you will" Jade rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, let's leave already," she said and they all left the room to go downstairs.

"So after the wedding, we will go to the naming?" Bethany asked.

"No genius, we go to the naming ceremony first before the wedding reception," Jade answered rubbing her stomach.

"This baby might end up becoming a footballer" she muttered.

"Such a kicker, like his dad" Jessica commented and Jade made a face.

"No face making, pregnant woman," Bethany said flicking her ear when they were already down the stairs ready to exit the house.

"Be happy you aren't the one who is going to be facing my wrath because of yo-" her mouth was covered by Jessica who was behind her and had her eyes opened wide.

"Of my what?" Bethany asked.

"Nothing let's go. The pregnant lady just says random things to get her mind off the discomfort she feels every time, right?" Rosalie led Bethany outside and looked behind her at jade giving her a warning look to which she returned with her tongue stuck out at her.

"Baby" Rosalie muttered and she rubbed her stomach and mouthed 'I am carrying one' with a wink.

"I am honestly suspecting you girls, I feel like you are hiding something from me, something you don't want me to find out"

"Dont worry, your misery will be attended to and you will be able to know the reason for all these we put you through," Rosalie said and the remaining two agreed with a nod.
