Wan hugged his knees as he hid behind a tree. Sobs wracked his very core, every moment was from sheer anguish at what has happened to him. His senses are going haywire, sensing both dark and light spirits on a fly. Wan clenched his hair as he cried out in frustration and pain.
"Stinky?"
Wan's head rose and his eyes were completely gray. His naked body trembling in fear. His old friend, Aye-Aye took a few steps back, he tried to mask his reaction but Wan knew it was fear. "Sticky, what's wrong? What happened?"
"Isn't it obvious? I'm a spirit now." Wan sassed coldly as he wiped his remaining tears in his eyes.
"Woah, hey now, no need to be hostile. Come on, no need to be so glum! Being a spirit is great!" Aye-Aye tried to cheer Wan up, but instead, the younger spirit just glared at him.
"I never wanted this! I never wanted to be a spirit! Raava and Vaatu made me like this! I'm a dark and light spirit, some kinda new concoction!"
"Well, what are you?"
"The Spirit of Balance..." Wan sniffled, "Now I'm forever stuck being their babysitters!"
"Sounds pretty fun if you ask me." Aya-Aye grinned. "You get to boss the primordial ones around."
"So? Are you trying to make me feel better? Because you're pretty awful at it." Wan huffed as he wiped his tears again.
"Wan!" Raava called out to the new spirit. Wan clenched his eyes tight, he was just a human. He couldn't basically keep the entire universe stable. Keep Raava and Vaatu from not killing each other.
Everything was too overwhelming and too frustrating.
"Come on out Wan," Vaatu rumbled. Wan could feel his dark presence draw ever so closer. "Let Papa Vaatu show you the ways of trouble-making."
"Vaatu, stop that!" Raava hissed.
"Oh come on Raava, he's also a dark spirit too!" Vaatu argued, while Raava merely scoffed at Vaatu's conclusions.
"And he is light spirit too!" The two argue until they find Wan, glaring at them. "Haven't you two done enough to me? Thanks for ruining my life."
"Wan, I wish I could change you back. But, this cannot be undone-"
"Well, let's be honest with ourselves, you're a lot more useful now as a spirit." Vaatu blurted out.
"VAATU!" Raava roared.
"Useful!? Is that what I am? Just a tool for your eternal game!" Wan's hair flared up as a surge of power overwhelmed him. Dark and Light rumbling to get his attention. Vaatu seemingly winced at Wan. He never did that before, ever.
Raava approached Wan, "No Wan, I-'' Raava didn't know what to say. "Wan, please. Vaatu tends to speak before he thinks." If Vaatu had eyes, he would have been rolling his eyes to the other side of the world right about now.
Wan's hair slowly came down as he collapsed on the floor. His energy waned from being so young. Aye-Aye helps Wan stand back up as he lets out groans. He held his head trying to adapt himself to millions of new senses. Each of them, buzzing for Wan to notice them.
"I want to go, you two stay away from me." That was all Wan said before Aye-Aye teleported them back to the spirit oasis. Wan cracked a small smile at the sight of his old home. The light spirits there quickly noticed his new energy. It felt very familiar and yet changed dramatically.
Wan, now he regained some of his strength and walked towards the spirits. "Hey, guys! It's me Wan I-"
Some of them vanish out of fear, others slightly bow at him. Yet, Wan knew the familiarity wasn't the same as before. Wan pushed back his tears by biting his tongue.
