In a school called Northview academy rumors are spreading faster than a plague.
It was about the spotting of ghosts in the newspaper club room and as usual, Yamada Akumano sensei, a science teacher, keeps on trying to prove that the school is a " ghost free" zone, to make it simple...
" THERE ARE NO SUCH THING AS GHOSTS!"
He always yells that to their faces, literally. What Yamada sensei do and says always affects the name and activities of one specific club that involves making ghost stories, recording paranormal activities, finding proof that spirit monsters exist and other spooky activities.
That club is none other than the Mystery club. It was created for the sole purpose of helping those who are troubled by the spirits.There are currently six members of this club and they are:
Eric, the club president who loves to solve mysteries;Yan, the vice president who is good with dealing with spirit monsters;
Chester, the secretary who always carry his laptop in order to gathers information online;
Jesh, the one who publishes the stories and videos they make;
Miel, the one who records their activities and last but not the least;
Han, the treasurer who interviews people for information.Each member never liked Yamada sensei because he always ruin their fun and ever time they try to investigate the school's most haunted places he keeps on finding ways to stop them. Seriously, that's pretty annoying.
Even though their dislike for Yamada sensei is very strong it would do them no good if they let themselves, especially Jesh, prank the said teacher because if the principal finds out then the mystery club is history.
One day, the academy's third year high school students were having a camping trip. The members of the club were all on the same class so they were all present on the trip.
Eric had managed to convince the councilors to let the club stay on the same cabin in case another mystery shows up.He was right, during the night a strange phenomenon occurred and it caused a lot of confusion to the group.
It was during the night at exactly twelve am that they felt a sudden coldness in their cabin and each one ended up waking with a sudden feeling of dread. It was as if they were attending someone's funeral or something. The strangest part amongst it all was that after several moments a loud howl enveloped the whole area.
The same phenomenon have been going on for three days straight.On the first night of the occurrence, Eric, Chester, and Han went outside to see what is going on and were confused as to why the place wasn't filled with scared students.
Usually if something freaky does happen then everything would be a mass of screaming students but this time the whole area was in sheer silence. They were completely baffled as they observed their surrounding, it was as if nothing had ever occurred! The three went back to their cabin and told the rest of them.
" So... how'd it go?" Jesh asked.
" not good, it looks like we were the only ones to notice something" Chester replied as he went and laid down on his bed.
" Did you search the place or even asked the councilors? Why did you come back so fast? You should've searched for some clues" Miel said while cleaning his camera.
" Don't be stupid. Its twelve o'clock, its way past our bedtime and we'll get in trouble if we get caught" Eric said.
" Besides, even if we gone off to the councilors none of them would've believed us since they never saw or heard anything." He continued.
" So... What should we do now?" Asked Chester.
" Let us rest for now and continue our search tomorrow" Yan said.
They ended their conversation and head back to bed. Once the morning came they began to continue their search. Their first priority was to find out if anyone else have noticed what happened last night. While participating in their every activity each one began asking as many of their classmates as they can.
" Hey Nao did you hear anything last night? like a howling or something?"
"Satoshi did you notice anything strange happening last night?"
" Hey Emi what time did you sleep? did something strange happen to you guys last night?"
" Ringo! Hana! you two are bunk-mates right? Noticed anything strange happened last night?"
The two aforementioned classmates stared at Han when she asked them this.
" Why? did something happen? Is this another mystery thing that your club is doing?" Hana asked.
" We were already asleep around 8:00 or so... why don't you ask any of the Sensei they might know something" Ringo said to her.
They managed to ask a lot of students and it was concluded that no one at camp realized the paranormal that occurred. but, they did manage to get a clue on what's happening and why they were the only people to experience it. It is pretty common if one or two people experience something like this but for a whole group to feel the supernatural all at once seldom happens. They haven't confirmed it yet but their hypothesis say that the cabin they are in is being haunted by an apparition and that the howling they heard was from the Wolf Spirit commonly known as Okami.
How do they know that it was Okami, is what you are probably asking.
Apparently Chester was able to talk to one of the sensei about their problem. Although the said Sensei, just like the others, never noticed anything, he was able to tell Chester that there happens to be a temple near the campsite and that a monk there once said that there lived an Okami on the hills near the campsite.
Whilst the Sensei believed that its just an urban legend and that it's nothing to be concerned about the gang thought otherwise. If the howling was Okami's work then who's doing the haunting and why does the wolf spirit corresponds with the haunting? These are only a few of the questions running on their heads and they won't stop until they solve this mystery. Over the past few years they had solved plenty of cases regarding the paranormal and some were either fake or just petty haunting. They once dealt with Bakeneko, a shape shifting cat, got tricked by a couple of Tanuki or shape-shifting raccoon and were chased by a Teke teke, a vengeful spirit of young woman with a half upper torso body.
That is why they know the danger when dealing with Spirit monsters and oftentimes it gets them into serious troubles. Ever since the Teke Teke incident followed by the near death of their classmate whom got attacked by an unknown Yokai, It almost got them disbanded because none of the staff believes them that yokai exists.
With Akumano Sensei's interference they were never able to participate in any activities and now that there's one happening they have to be vigilant as to not get caught. They set their minds on finding more clues about who's haunting them and to make sure that none of the humans in the area will ever be in danger again.
If it really is Okami then they have to be careful not to anger the said spirit and if the one haunting them is the cause of Okami's arrival then they must be extra careful.
Having that thought in mind the gang made sure that they were prepared for another night of spooky event and with that paranormal, day one ends.
