Take your time

chapter 7

Harry's pov:

Me and Zayn were going for our lunch , others had classes at that time so we were hanging out in the campus during lunch, i thought it was a perfect time to talk to him about violet, we both got along well , he turned out to be really close to me more than i expected in one month, i wouldnt hesitate to talk to him about it. 

harry- "zayn, i need to talk to you about something"

zayn-" ok go ahead"

harry-" so like a day or two back we found out that my mom and violets mom were college friends who lost contact, they met each other back and still are good friends which is great"

zayn- "ok"

harry-" so like yesterday violet and her mum came for dinner at our place, and after dinner me and violet went out for some fresh air, we almost kissed." i said and zayn said nothing but smiled 

zayn-" you like her from the first day don't you?"

harry-" um-ye-yeah, but how did u figure it, was i so obvious?"

zayn- " On the first day of school you couldn't keep your eyes off her which i found little creep but then i decided not to judge early, then when the Chad thing happened , when violet was inside you were panicked and had it was clearly on your face, it was what a more than a friend would have, And styles did you kiss my bestfriend ? not that i mind but still"

harry-" no i exactly did not kiss her but we were about to when her phone rang."

zayn-" so are you planning to ask her out?"

harry-"i don't know, i mean i like her and i am ready but do you think she likes me , could the kiss mean nothing , it could be a part of the moment" 

zayn-" i think she likes you too harry, remember when Violet was fainted on the sofa when we got inside Chad's house, when you were busy starring Chad  Violet was murmured your name, she heard your voice even when she was almost unconscious, she likes you harry.

Harry-" but do you think she is ready to even date?"

Zayn-" I don't know about that much but you can give her time she needs, she is not good at decision  making and  she would overthink a million times before taking one."

Harry-"i just don't want to pressure her i don't mind her taking time but the only problem is my and her mom are going on vacation they have told us to live with each other at my house for a week "

Zayn-" I think it is going to be really good for both of you, you both will be able to cinfront things with each other and realize if you actually have feelings for each other or not."

Harry-" Hmm"

Zayn- "OK so now it is time for some advice, see Violet might ignore or even act a little different and she won't speak her mind until you make motivate her to speak so you have to do that for but don't force it."

Harry-" Yeah I will take care of it"

Zayn-" and more than anything give her time, she is scared to date make her feel that you are safe and won't ever hurt her and Don't hurt her unless you want kicks in your balls"

Harry-"no I would never do anything to hurt her ever."

Zayn-" good, by the way you told about it to anyone else?" .

Harry-" no, not yet , I just want things to be clear."

Zayn-"oh ok ,lets go lunch time is almost over."

Harry-" Yeah, hey thank you so much."

Zayn-"you don't have to."

Talking things out with zayn was really helpful, he gave me so much clarity , in the evening I went out with my mom to help her shop for her trip, me and Violet did not talk today , I wanted to but I avoided it so she can have time to figure out things in her head , the next day Violet was absent in school as she wanted to spend time with her mom. We didn't get a chance to talk about it yet.

Violets pov:

Me and harry hadn't still talked about it yet, I was trying to runaway from the conversation but I knew I couldn't do that for a long time, I was not sure about my feelings plus I wasn't ready to date yet.

I was quite close to my mom so I spent a day with her before she went. The next day, it was the trip day for my mom and Anne , they left for their flight in the morning , I was going to Harry's house after the school, the school was normal but I had anxiety the whole day as I knew I couldn't run more from answering.

The school got over, I drove my car to my home to collect my bag I packed and then went to Harry's house, on the way to his house I called Lauren and told her how much I was scared of talking, she calmed me and said to just take things calmly and tell harry what I exactly felt if he asks or brings up the topic, I wasn't relieved but I managed somehow.

I reached to his house, parked the car in driveway and took put my bag harry helped me take the bag inside, I was given the guest room. Harry told me to make myself comfortable, i went for for shower to fresh up. I came and dressed up myself when I heard harry calling me from kitchen

" Hey violet- what do want for dinner?

"Anything" I replied

"I need a name, I have to cook " He replied

I went downstairs to help him make dinner, We decided to make some pasta as it was easy , while cooking we talked about normal stuff there was no awkwardness around. After cooking dinner we finished our home work. We helped each other and finished our work, it was already 8'oclock so we had our dinner, while having dinner we watched some episodes of friends,

After dinner we finished with the dishes we decided to go out to the dockyard , harry drove the car.

We sat on those huge chains silent , in between we talked a little, I was nervous still, I couldn't keep my hands still I was continuously fidgeting with my hoodie strap

" violet- what are you nervous about, I am no intruder to kill you." Harry said and u smiled at him

I gathered all my courage and decided to speak about the almost kiss

" I am sorry-" I said

"Why?" He questioned

" I was running away from you specially after the dinner day, it's just that I don't know what I feel yet and I have million things running in my mind and i- " I said and before I could finish he said

"Hey you don't have to be sorry for that , I understand it completely, initially I did not say anything about it because I thought you needed some time to figure it out." He replied

" did you figure anything out?" I said I don't know how did i manage to ask this

" there's nothing for me to figure out, I want to be honest with you I have liked you more than a friend since the first time we met." Harry said and my heart stopped , thoughts rushed my mind

"Violet I am not going to force you or even push you into this just because i like you, I would completely understand if you don't want to or even want some time." He added further

"I don't know harry, I mean I do like you but I am just scared to date, I am afraid I don't know about what l am scared about it is not about getting hurt but something I am trying  to figure out" I said

" I understand it is difficult for you and I am not going to push it unless you are ready for it, I know in the past years you have gone through many things and so I dint want to push anything." He said

"Thank you harry, for understanding " I said

"No problem , at least we sorted things out." He replied and we both smiled

It was getting late so we both went back home, we packed our time table and went to the bed

I was thinking about how smooth things go with harry, he understood me, he did not push things and above all how easy he made for me to talk to Him, i knew i liked him but there was something still holding me back.

Harry's pov:

I was really happy that violet confronted about her feelings to ne , I was at least sure that she liked me more than a friend and that was enough for me ,I would wait for her rather date anyone random, i just wanted to know or understand why was she scared to date me , she told she was not afraid to get hurt, what else could be the reason.
