After playing, drawing, singing and telling stories to the children, I decide to leave.
- Let's go? - I say to Angie after saying goodbye to the children.
- Yes! - just say.
I look at the clock. It was already 6 pm. I stayed practically all day with the children.
I always came to visit them. I loved these kids. Everyone may not believe that a spoiled, futile and empty boy, as everyone thinks me to be, I like to be among simple people. But I don't really care. I loved being there.
I get in the car and Angela does the same, still silent.
- You can take me straight home.
She just nods. She was weird.
- Everett? - she stares at me. - Are you okay? - I arch an eyebrow.
- Yes! - shrugs.
I frown but shrug and watch the city lights flash past the car window.
- I didn't know you were going to that orphanage. - says breaking the silence that was installed.
I smirk.
- I love those kids!
She smiles and shakes her head.
- What?
- It's just that I didn't imagine that a boy like you would go to a place like that.
- A boy like me? I arch an eyebrow, crossing my arms.
She shrugs and laughs.
- Yeah, so... Spoiled and selfish.
I give an ironic laugh.
- You don't know me, Angela Everett! - I say and get out of the car when she parks in front of my building.
I walk into my apartment and throw myself on the couch. I take off my shoes, but before I can do anything else, my cell phone rings.
I roll my eyes and pick it up without even seeing who it was.
- Hello?
- Son? - I smile.
- Hi Dad!
- How are you?
- Well and you, sir?
He laughs.
- Sir not, my son! I'm not that old! - I laughed - And how are you getting on with Angela?
I roll my eyes.
- She's an idiot! - My father laughs. - Why did you hire her, a woman, Dad?
