"Who is that?" Hunter asked. "I have absolutely no idea." I answered. The restaurant was dim and they were too far for us to make out the second persons appearance.
"Maybe their not actually with her just walking close behind or something." He suggested.
I shrugged "maybe but it looks as if their headed our way." Hunter burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" I asked. He shook his head. "Come on tell me." I said "I wanna laugh too."
"It's just that for the first time since we've walked through these doors you don't have it all figure out."
"There's a lot that I don't have figured out." I said. "Like what?" He asked "I mean you've practically just told me your entire life story from birth to burial and you're telling me you haven't figured it all out."
I smiled. Why was he so nice? "I mean I have plans and goals I say I'm gonna go to Cambridge or Oxford study law get my masters help my dad run his lawfirm for the first couple years and a bunch of other boring stuff like that but half the time I'm not sure that's what I really want."
He was quite as the waitress came with our cheesecakes and..."Kelly?" I said in disbelief. "What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you actually why did you take your dads car?" "Because my car is in the shop." I said through gritted teeth. "Whatever can I borrow it?" She asked "borrow what?" I asked my face slightly heating my so-called friend had just ruined my date."
"The car duh?" I rolled my eyes "how did you get here with no car?" I asked "Vince drove me." She stated "and he's waiting outside." Vince was Kelly's not boyfriend who wanted to make out half the time and hurl insults at her the rest of the time.
I sighed "how am I supposed to get back home then?" I asked Kelly "I'll drive you." Hunter who had basically been sitting there looking shocked volunteered. I looked from Hunter to Kelly and back.
"Fine." I stated "tell the boy toy I said hello."
After Kelly left and the waitress a while after her we were just sitting there in silence. "Still wanna go to the park?" Hunter questioned."sure." I said.
we had after a long argument come to the decision that Hunter would pay and I would tip. I would've glady played my half of the bill but Hunter insisted on paying it.
We were riding to the park when hunter said "you know one day you'll figure it out." My eyebrows furrowed in confusion "I'll figure what out?" I questioned.
"One day you'll wake up and realize that you knew all along what you wanted to do with your life and you'll just go do it." He explained.
"Hopefully, but what if it's too late you know when I do find out what I want to do what if I'm to old and sick."
"I'll doubt it." Was all he said as he stopped at the park.
We raced to the swing set. "Last one there's a rotten egg." I shouted behind me as I made it to the swing set laughing so hard my sides hurt."
"You run pretty fast shortcake." He said as he sat on the swing next to mine "shortcake?" I echoed. "Boy toy?" He said mocking my tone." I laughed. Well if I've got to have a nickname then I'll call you ketchup." I huffed "why ketchup?" He asked "that's not even normal!" "Because that's what you need to do." I laughed. "Or better yet how about pretty boy?" I suggested "that's normal right?" "Umm not unless I'm gay..." He said his eyes daring me to say what I said next
"Well we'll just have to wait and see then." I said. "That's it!" He said jumping off his swing and chasing me around the park."noooo." I said as I fell in the wood chips. "Alright shortcake?" He called. "Just fine pretty boy." I called back
That's how it all started.
