Chapter One: Murder strikes

The cold breeze of leaf are kept the cats of Puddleclan on edge at the decreasing of prey and the lack of apprentices.But one cat had other worries on his mind.

berrytail padded out of camp with crowfern at his tail, perfect.Ok it's now or never but first let me clear my name now. Silversong started to pad to the river to hunt once he had enough fish he hid them and went to find Berrytail.He found him all alone he sniffed the air smelling crowfern scent on Berrytail and looked for crowfern.Crowfern was nowhere near him.This is too easy he's basically asking to be killed,I rolled my eyes.

leaping at Berrytail  with claws unsheathed and held him down triumphantly.berrytail looked shocked at me and tried to push me off but failed.No surprise there he's always been weak I thought.Glaring at Berrytail and wanting to end this quickly he then bit his neck smiling at the crack he heard and then walked away making sure leave no footprints behind.Thank sunclan it hasn't snowed yet.I need to go back to river got one more fish.

Smirking when he heard the sound of crowfern shrieking he raced over to him.Crowdlfern looked at silversong in horror silversong looked back at him then at Berrytail then ba at crowfern and shrieked "YOU MURDERED BERRYTAIL!" No you've got it all wrong Silversong I swear said crowfern.Silver leaped at crowfern and clawed at him making sure to get fur in his claws.Silversong then snatched up berrytails body and ran back to camp.

"I almost feel bad for crowfern but he's the sacrifice I'm willing to make to be deputy if he's still alive when I'm leader I'll see if he wants to rejoin the clan" he thought thoughtfully.Yowling and setting he's set berrytails body in camp CROWFERN KILLED BERRYTAIL!The eyes of everyone in camp was on me well that was until swanstar bounded over to me.What happened?! And some cat go get crowfern!

Adderwing rushed out of camp to get crowfern.I was hunting and then I heard a shrieking so I went to see who and what it was and then I saw crowfern over berrytails body I halve wailed in fake horror, then I leaped and clawed at him and then snatched up berrytails body and ran here as fast as I could manage I finished in fake sadness.

Swanstar looked at me with a gaze of admiration,pride and pity I smirked to myself in my head knowing he trusts me even more now.Crowfern walked in with his head and tail low with his ears laying on the back of his head.Adderwing shoved him forward and walk back into the crowd.

Swanstar turned to glare at him but crowfern didn't meet his gaze.You killed my deputy he started.IT WASN'T ME I SWEAR-.

Don't interrupt me when I'm speaking swanstar stopped him coldly.Do you know what season it is?Leaf-bare.Do you really think I'm going to believe you when you scent is all over berrytails body and the fact that it's leaf-bare is an inconvenience in itself but then halfway through leaf-bare I find out my deputy is dead at the paws of one of my warriors swanstar states.Crowfern stays silent then says sense there's nothing I can do to get you to believe me I will take any punishment you want to give he says giving up.You will leave the territory and not come back as long as I am leader you will stay banished Swanstar says and then walks back to his den.

Silversong glared at him,I will give you 10 heartbeats before I chase you out myself he growled.Crowfern looks at him in shock and runs out of camp.Silversong before you go after him I would like to say thank you for being so brave feathermist states even if he is my brother I have no pity for a murderer no the less the murderer of my mate.

Im sorry this has happened I say in with slight pity but I need to chase him out the territory.Theres no need Adderwing says, I'll go after him in a slightly eager tone.She heads out of camp.She will be a great ally owlstrike whispers.Yeah she will.Remeber make ally's,pick a succe-Let all cat's able to swim in the river gather here before jagged rock for a clan meeting! Everyone turned to look at swanstar and Silversong went to sit next to his mate nightleap by the nursery.As you know Berrytail has died,the vigil will start soon and it's time to appoint the new deputy.Finnaly I'm going to be deputy!Your hard work paid off owlstrike commented.

I say these words before Moonclan,so that the spirit of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice the new deputy of Puddleclan will be Silversong. Silversong! Silversong! Silversong! the clan chanted nightleap being loudest of all. Thank you Swanstar I'm honoured you think I will be a great fit for being deputy I know I can not replace Berrytail but I will live up by his example.

Good riddance now your deputy, swanstar trust's me and soon our plan will succeed owlstrike started.
Grassvine ran to the nursery.Nightleap wailed in pain. Nightleap's having her kits! NOW!?Looks your successor couldn't wait owlstrike mocked.Thats my kit your talking about I shot back.

Once the kits were warmed up Silversong padded into the nursery.Have you thought of any names for them? I was thinking naming the tan tom-kit with silver ear tips and paws fawnkit and the black  she-kit with dark blue-grey stripes, red eyes and white spots butterflykit. Those are wonderful names how about we name the white,black,tan and ginger one maplekit and the other silver and white she-kit fernkit? Perfect I can't wait to see them grow up.Hopefully one will be the perfect successor for the plan, owlstrike commented.yeah maybe our plan will be set...
