You heard Kalani, your best friend knock on the door over the loud sound of Need To Know playing on the speaker before turning it down.
"Yeah?" you unlocked the door, she peeked her head in a little. You weren't doing anything but taking out your braids.
"You can come in." she did as soon as you said it, bothering her nose ring that was half way in her nose, leaving you to laugh a little bit, already knowing what happened, "Did your nose ring fall out again?"

"Yeah, but that's not why I'm here." she lied, but you knew better, raising your eyebrow at her, "Really?"
"Well that's part of the reason." she admitted and you shook your head, "What's the other part?"
"So, there's a bonfire on the beach tonight and I wanna go." usually, you wouldn't agree to this, being in the house is your thing but going out would be good for you, "Okay."
"Armin invited me and he said his friend that just got back from something'll be there." she kept going like you didn't already agree... "Alright."
"This one's not ugly, actually he's sexy." she already made her point but okay, you thought to yourself while shaking your head at her, "Sounds good."
"Come on, I want to go to the beach." she clasped her hands together and stood up on her tippy toes in a begging kind of manner, leaving you to roll your eyes, "Lani, I said yes."
"Oh, sorry," she laughed while you shook your head at her again, "You usually say no, so I was prepared to make my case."
"When are we leaving?" you tilted your head, taking all of the hair from your braids and throwing it away, "Around 7."
"Alright." you had about three hours to get ready, but you needed to start now, because having to wash and style your hair would take a while.
After a little under two hours of dealing with curly hair and trying to get your bun slick, you were finally getting ready. You put on some simple sweats and slides with bathing suit under it to match Kalani, before hurrying out to the car.
