Life is much too short for you to try to convince everyone to like you. Your destiny is too great for you to waste time fighting battles that do not matter. If somebody does not celebrate you and accept you, then move on.
If they walked away, it is OK. It could be a blessing in disguise. There is freedom when you realise that you do not have to compete for everyone's approval. You can just run your own race, focus on your goals, be your best - and let God take care of the rest.
