Seated at the office balcony enjoying my orobo Pepsi with bread, a lovely afternoon junk, scrolling down my Facebook timeline, my phone rang. It was the sports car man on the line. I swallowed the big chunk of bread that was already in my mouth without hesitation. I cared less to know if it was going to choke my throat or not. Immediately, I dropped everything on the floor, the bread and the Pepsi, so as to gain balance while answering the call. It was the long awaited call.
"Hello," I answered.
"Hello its Mike," his deep masculine voice gently went down my ear lobe.
"I know. Thank you for calling."
"Yeah, I'm very sorry I did not call to check up on you the previous day. I was so tied up with work."
"No you don't have to be sorry. I understand. I actually wanted to call you, like I was even about calling you before your call came in. I'm happy --" the desperate part of me wanted to out cloud the normal Amaka in me. Realizing how desperate I was beginning to sound, my lips slammed shut.
"Hello. Hello."
"I am with you."
"You're happy about what?"
"I am happy about the sunny day." I lied, and it was obvious I did. I wanted to tell him how happy I was having such man of his caliber coming for me, asking for my number, and finding me attractive and sexy. I wanted to tell him how happy I was throughout yesterday he came to look for me in his black jeep. How happy I was to hear him call my name.
"That first day, I tried talking with you because your beauty trapped my attention and you were raising shoulders for me. Or, you were shy? You don't talk to strangers or what?"
"None of them. I was just... ehm..."
"I understand. It is normal for you ladies especially the very pretty ones like you".
I grinned continuously, like a child who just discovered clay for the first time. Every part of my body enjoying the tease. His sweet mouth alone can strip a lady's pant off her waist without much persuasion. I felt his presence physically with me. Exactly what I needed at the moment – the feeling of a romantic moment with him. He kept on teasing out the womanhood in me. Those sweet, sweet words that softly pierced my heart to the veins that connect to my brains. Oh my libido.
"Amaka! Amaka!" Oga interrupted with his authoritative voice.
"Please I will get back to you." I hurriedly said and hung up the call immediately.
"Oooommd! So this man is still in the office." I murmured and walked straight to his office forgetting my Pepsi and bread.
"Sir?"
"Get me the stock books." He replied without looking at my face. He was busy with some files on his table. I brought the stock books to him, placed them on his table and was quick to leave his office. Oga's office was directly beside the reception. The reception has three desks placed at different corners. One for Maria - Operation Manager. The other for Nzube - Key Punching Officer. The third, which was placed at the center was for me – Storekeeper.
"Bia nwanyi, bia here. Sit down here let's have this review together. Get me all the waybills you received since January and give me account of how you issued out goods starting from the day you officially resumed." Oga's unfriendly voice held me captive as I was about entering the reception. Fiam! My mood swung. I managed to drag my legs to get the required. "Osiso, osiso." He commanded. I hastened up
