Chapter 2

There was a car horn that went off, snapping Annalise out of her day dreaming. Bella came into her room, with a confused look.

"Was Charlie expecting anyone?" She asked. Annalise shrugged, standing up and walking with Bella out to the driveway.

"Hey Bella, Annalise, you two remember Billy Black?" Charlie said, slightly smiling.

"Oh yeah," Bella lied, "How are you?" Annalise stood there, giving the man in the wheelchair a polite smile.

"Oh good, still dancing." He said with a smile, causing Charlie and Annalise to chuckle lightly, while Bella smiled awkwardly. A tall, lanky native boy, who looked so much like Billy, awkwardly walked up to the girls, while the two grown men were play fighting.

"Uh Hi, I'm Jacob, you probably don't remember me. We used to make mud pies together." He said, looking at Bella, completely ignoring Annalise, not that she minded. So, Annalise stood there awkwardly, looking at the trees that led into the woods, right across from their house. Billy and Charlie were play-fighting while the three teenagers were watching, while Bella and Jacob weren't amused and slightly embarrassed, Annalise was giggling, finding this moment amusing.

"Are they always like this?" Bella asked Jacob, he nodded.

"It's getting worse with old age." Jacob shrugged. Charlie walked back up to the three teenagers, and patted the orange truck.

"Do you like it?" He said "It's yours. Well, both of yours." Bella's eyes widened and Annalise's head snapped over to look at her father, a smile cracking at her lips.

"Really, it's ours?" Bella said, excitedly, opening the door to check it out, in the process hitting Jacob in the face.

"Jacob, are you okay?" Annalise asked, softly examining his face, resulting in a soft blush dusting his cheeks.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine." He said before going into the truck, giving the two girls a quick explanation.

"Well, at least we would know at least one person at our new school." Bella said, but Jacob shook his head and looked at her with an apologetic face.

"Sorry, but I go to the school on the reservation." He said.

"Oh." Bella murmured. Annalise smiled softly, and patted Bella's shoulder.

"Hey, you got me." She said, making Bella smile at her. Soon, Billy and Jacob Black soon left after a bit. The small family of three went inside soon afterwards and had made dinner.

Annalise was not ready for school, or what would follow afterwards.
