You walked with Leif through the final parts of the maze. He stood there a shaking, flustered mess at your last comment, and couldn't decide if you meant that you preferred his Daemos clothes...or...

There was suddenly a loud scream echoing throughout the maze and you looked up at Leif worriedly. "That sounded a lot like Ava!"

The two of you ran and realized the person who had screamed like a girl was in fact Steve, and Ava had punched him in the face.

"Oh Ava." You groaned as you shook your head and smacked your face.

"He totally deserved it Y/n!" Ava retaliated as she began to explain her reasoning for punching Lorelei's newly ex boyfriend. You couldn't help but laugh and link your arm with hers as you led her out of the maze. You were proud of her, but refused to admit it.

You all walked out of the festival, deciding everyone had done enough damage for the night. Lorelei looked very sad, but had a newer, brighter hope in her eyes that you noticed differed extremely from the desperate hope that shined in her eyes earlier. You realized that this breakup was the best thing that could've happened to her tonight.

"Lorelei!" Ava called, snapping you out of your thoughts as you refocused in on their conversation.

"Yeah Ava?" She asked, sounding exhausted.

"Let's hang out sometime, okay? I'll call you." Ava smiled brightly and Lorelei had a teasing expression on her face.

"I'll consider answering," Lorelei laughed and shook her head, "I'm kidding. I look forward to hearing from you." She left soon after that and you looked up at your sister and smiled.

"I'm proud of you Ava." You couldn't help but admit it.

"She's not so bad." Ava sighed and linked her arm with yours once more, leading you home.

The rest of the night was quiet.

It was too quiet for your liking.

The quiet before the storm always was.

"Good morning beautiful." You groaned as your light was flicked on. Your eyes parted open slightly and Leif spun into your room with a funny butler outfit on and a tray of breakfast in his hands.

"Is this for me?" You asked with a cracking voice and Leif nodded up and down.

"I figured I would speed up the waiting process."

You face palmed and looked back up at the eager Daemos. "You making me breakfast Leif, won't stop the magic crisis." You spoke blandly, but you couldn't control the happiness that swelled your heart.

He sighed contently and rolled his eyes back, "I love it when you say my name." He groaned out and you felt your heart pound nervously.

You slapped him softly and took the plate of your favorite breakfast out of his hands. You found yourself blushing softly. At the assassin training camp the two of you had met at, you had very stale breakfasts. You would talk about the food you dreamt of eating again one day, and he remembered and made it for you all of those years later.

"I know, I'm amazing." He grinned from ear to ear and you looked up at him with bright eyes.

"Yeah, Leif, you really are." You smiled softly which earned a blush from the male in front of you that followed his amazed expression. "This is amazing, thank you." You spoke as you began to eat.

Leif kissed you on the forehead and left your room to let you eat in peace.

Peace.

This morning had been peaceful for you.

You couldn't help but allow a few tears to slide down your cheeks, because you knew that this feeling would be over in a few days time.

It was absolutely dreadful.
