Dad's P.O.V
I blank out again before dropping a soft toy on my foot,
"Come on Jim, it's been a month already."
I knew she wasn't coming back the moment she kissed be good bye. But I have to keep it together, for Serenity.
Dad's P.O.V
She's going so big already, the midwife says that she's still quite small for her age. But she's still growing up so quickly.
I phoned Beth a couple days after she left, I think that we both had to admit that she wasn't coming back. We agreed to get a divorce; so that I could get on with my life here with Serenity and, she could get on with her life there. I haven't started dating yet, it's too soon and Serenity needs me.
Dad's P.O.V
"Come on Serenity, you can do it! Come to dadda!"
She just gives me a blank look before bursting into giggles whilst clapping her hands in applause.
"Ah well, you do it when you're ready."
I hear a loud knock on the door,
"Jim? I know you're in there."
I recognise the voice as Jack's, a close friend of mine. He's been baby sitting Serenity lately. He's not the kind of man who you could ever picture as a baby sitter without having seen it for yourself. He's tall, and muscular with a hansom face, and a massive ego. He's known to be a lady killer, but he's just your typical man whore, he's in and out of bed with a different woman every night. I don't even know how we become friends, but he's been one of my best friends for as long as I can remember.
I turn my head towards the door and yell, "It's open!"
Moments later Jack comes walking in to the room, causing Serenity to become excited again. He's clearly chuffed that he's popular even with babies. Serenity holds her arms out to me, I pick her up and carry her onto the sofa and place a toy infront of her. She grabs for it and haules it into her lap. This keeps her entertained long enough for me and Jack to have a conversation. I then leave for work trusting Serenity in Jack's uncapable hands until Jane comes over later this morning.
