chapter four - fangirls

TW: A LITTLE BIT OF HOMOPHOBIA (DONT WORRY ITS NOT THAT BAD)

Sora POV

I arrived at school and didn't even bother to wait for Levi. The school day doesn't start until forty minutes, anyway. I only got here early to school was because one of my moms took me to school super early, and two, I wanted to get there early to continue on the project. Not this early, though. But then again, yesterday wasn't very productive, so I thought I might as well get more work in.

I was walking towards the classroom, where a familiar voice appears behind me. "Sora, wait up." I turn around to see the redhead boy behind me. "I was looking all over for you."

"Jaxx, what do you want? I'm going to class to work on the work we never did yesterday."

"Come on, it's too early for that. How about we go hang out somewhere," did I hear correctly? Does Jaxx really want to hang out with me? I don't believe it.

"And why would you want to do that? I have better things to do, you know."

"You mean going to the classroom to study? No wonder people call you a nerd."

"Hey! If you're here to insult me then I'm leaving."

"No no no. I was joking. I do want to hang out with you. Do you want to come or no?"

I hesitate on his question for a bit. I don't really want to hang out with him but it might be a good idea to actually start making friends. "Fine, I'll go. Only because you're not gonna stop pestering me about this." Jaxx gains a small smile and I follow behind him. We head out to the indoor lounge and we took a seat. Jaxx grabs some money out of his bag and laid it on the table.

"Do you want anything from the snack bar?" Jaxx offered me.

"I guess so. Let's go see what they have." We got up and went over to the small concession stand we have in the lounge. The person who was working at the concession stands looked to be a sophomore or a junior. They didn't look like seniors like how Jaxx and I were. 

"Hello what would you two- oh my god," the girl looked at Jaxx and immediately started blushing. "Oh, hello there."

"Hello."

"Is there anything you want to eat?" She says fidgeting with her hair and with her fingers.

"Hm, do you want anything?" he turns to look at me. "Can I get a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie and a banana and strawberry smoothie please?"

"One peanut butter chocolate chip cookie and one ice cream cup please."

"Come right up!" She rushes to the back to get our food.

"So, how'd you know I was at school early this morning?" I kinda ask him putting him on the spot. 

"Well I came here early this morning too and I saw you walking up towards the classrooms. Knowing the nerd that you are, you were probably going to go study so I went to go see if you wanted to hang out. Only because my friends aren't here though. That's the only reason why so don't be getting any ideas."

"Don't worry, I wasn't." The young worker comes back and hands us our snacks. Jaxx goes and grabs his money from his back pocket and was about to hand it to the lady until she stopped him. "Oh please, it's my treat," she smiles and pays for our snacks.

"Oh, I can't do that. Let me pay for my own food."

"No, please. I insist."

"Well darling, I have to pay you somehow."

"Hehe," the girl started blushing even more. "Maybe I could get your number instead of cash huh?"

"Eh, no thanks. But thanks for paying I guess." Jaxx turns around and goes back to the table we were sitting at. I looked at them in shock and the lady was left with a sad expression. I thanked her for paying and rushed over to Jaxx.

"Jaxx! You were so insensitive back there. How could you be so rude to her?"

"What? She insisted on paying for my food and I didn't want her number. As simple as that." 

"But you could have at least said thank you."

"I rather not. She treats me like all of my other fan girls do anyways." Jaxx grabs all of his bags and hands me mines. "Let's get out of here. I feel like shes gonna start crying soon and cause a scene." I take my bag from Jaxx and walk out of the student lounge. We head towards the court yard and take a seat at one of the benches.

I was eating my cookie and drinking my smoothie, and Jaxx was eating his ice cream when this swarm of girl all came by us. Probably to talk to Jaxx.

"Omg Jaxx, hi!" One of the girls said.

"Jaxx, come sit with us!" Another yelled.

"Jaxx, do you want us to by you some more ice cream?" Now I see why Jaxx said that's how all of his other fan girls treat him.

I basically try to ignore the conversation, while going on my phone scrolling though tiktok. There are some comments that I would hear like, "why are you hanging out with such a nerd," or "come hang out with us. We are so much better than a non-talkivite nerd." They didn't hurt too much I kinda just brushed it off.

The girls were still talking to him, and he stood up grabbed his bags. "Sora. Get up let's go." He tossed me his bag and walks away. "Jaxx? Where are you going? Stay with us." One girl said while grabbed his arm.

"Let go of me," he rips his arm out of her grip and walks away. I was about to go follow him but one of the girls pushed me down.

"Hey nerd. What are you doing hanging out with our Jaxx?" Some brat said.

"Our Jaxx? You don't own him."

"Oh we do. He belongs to us. Right Ashley?" 

'So that's on of their names,' I thought to myself.

"Look. We all know that you're gay. So disgusting. Why do you like someone that's the same gender as you. So pathetic." The Ashley girl says.

"Excuse me?"

"You are so god damn gross." Another brat says.

"Dont stand by him, Angelika. He's going to turn you gay. He going to make you like girl."

"Look, I'm just trying to hang out with-"

"Jaxx? Please. He's only just pitting you since you have to work on a project with him. He's too cool for you." That Angelika girl says.

"Stay away from him. You're gonna make him gay too. Jaxx is ours."

"So does that mean that if Jaxx is straight, and I turn him gay, does that mean he likes me? And he's more likely to like me more than you?"

"I- well-"

"Sora, hurry up." Jaxx pushes through the crowed and offers me his hand. I grab his hand and we walk away hand in hand. I turn around and smirk and wink at the girls, leaving them really mad.

"You need to control your fangirls." I let go of his hand and fix my hair.

"What did they even say to you?"

"Nothing important. Just some homophobic marks."

"If they are bothering you, just tell me. I'll deal with them."

"Its okay, I delt with it already."

"You're so cute." He chuckled under his breath.

"Shut up."
