I'm not even sure why I'm here in the first place. This is not the place for me.
My parents left the conference room less than two minutes ago, but I'm already missing them and home. Wes left a few hours ago, before the admission process started.
I now sit alone in a smaller, white room with only a scale, a desk with a laptop computer, and one chair to keep me company. I lower myself into the chair and question why I was left alone in this room. If they're so worried about my "safety", why was I left alone here with so many things I can use to hurt myself or others?
Upon further inspection, I see that the computer is a Toshiba 13-inch laptop. A half-empty bottle of Coke sits next to the computer. A picture frame featuring a small black-haired girl of about four years old leans on the wall. Next to it is a miniature mirror.
I look in the mirror, and I'm frightened by what I see. I see a crazed ivory-haired, ruby-eyed maniac. No, not a maniac. A psychopath that, apparently, is too dangerous to be left alone, so he has to be locked up with a bunch of other psychotic teenagers.
This is not cool at all.
The door creaks open, revealing the man from earlier. I'm pretty sure he introduced himself as Sid. He has-oddly enough-blue skin, and his teeth are bared and slightly creepy. He wears a headband with a hole in the middle. I approve of his choice in headwear.
He tosses me some folded up clothes. I see that they're scrubs. Seriously? He closes the door. I quickly change, and then I tell him that I'm done. He opens the door.
"Come on, Soul." He holds the door open, asking me to exit. "The unit is not nearly at capacity right now. We only have about seven patients including you."
We walk down a corridor with landscape-painted walls. After about fifty feet, we arrive at a pair of white doors, which Sid opens by punching in a code into a keypad. There is a click, and he pushes open the doors.
We are standing in a large room, filled with couches and cushy chairs. About six other teens all turn to get a look at the new meat-that would be me. I glance around the room, trying to observe the other patients, but as I try to match faces and characteristics, my head starts to spin. The only details is that three of the patients are in blue scrubs, and the other three are in normal street clothes.
"You can go sit down next to Black*Star, the boy with the blue hair," Sid says. "Group is about to start. We'll get you a rule book and a notebook soon."
"Ooh-kay..." I mutter, making my way towards the boy Sid referred to.
I flatten my mouth into a thin line, give a curt wave to the boy, and take a seat on the blue couch with wooden arms.
The blue-haired boy gapes at me. "Who're ya? I'm Black*Star! I'll surpass the gods!"
I stifle a chuckle. "You'll surpass the gods? Who are you? Captain America?"
"Don't go mocking the great Black*Star! You'll regret it!" He wears jeans and a blue t-shirt with a yellow star on the front.
I shake my head.
A tall girl wearing a red midriff-baring top and denim jeans jumps up and lunges towards Black*Star. "Oh, give it a break, you arrogant ass!" She has blue eyes and long dirty blonde hair. The girl turns to me. "I'm Liz, and this is my little sister, Patty!" She points to a shorter girl wearing the same top, but who has short yellow-blonde hair and wears puffy shorts instead of jeans.
Patty jumps up and down, laughing like a maniac. "Kyahaha!"
"Um. Nice to meet you, I guess?"
I let my gaze wander around the room, and my eyes land on a small figure in the corner of the room.
