From Analyst to Family Man (A Lokius Fanfic)

After breakfast, Mobius and Bea get ready to go to the office where they work, and Sylvie gets dressed for her new job at a 50's themed diner.

"Hehe, nice poodle skirt. You look lovely in pink." Loki chuckled, knowing Sylvie hated pink.

She glares at them holding up her middle finger.

"Behave now, Syl, there are children present." Loki teased.

"I gotta go, I don't want to be late on my first day." Sylvie said, choosing to ignore Loki.

"Bye, my lovelies." she said hugging and kissing the children.

"Bye, Auntie Sylvie!" the children replied.

On her way out, Sylvie grabs her jacket, motorcycle helmet, and keys. Then she gets on her bike and heads to work.

"We have to get going as well." Bea told Mobius.

Mobius nods, then goes over to his kids to give them each a kiss on the head.

"I love you guys, I'll see you when I get home from work." Mobius told his children.

Next, he walks over to Loki and kisses them on the lips and then again on the cheek.

"I love you." Mobius told them.

"I love you, too." Loki replied, fixing Mobius's tie.

Bea and Mobius get into Mobius's car and drive to work. The only adult in the house that doesn't have a job is Loki, who is a stay at home parent, they also homeschool their kids. It was a Saturday, so there was no schoolwork to be done.

"So, what do you want to do today?" Loki asked.

"I wanna draw and color." Astrid answered.

"Yeah." Eydis agreed, nodding.

"Alright." Loki said, standing up from the kitchen table.

They grab a stack of computer paper and the bucket of crayons and set them on the table in front of the girls.

"What about you, Benny? What do you want to do?" Loki asked, placing their hand on their son's back.

The boy shrugs quietly, his arms folded on top of the table.

"Are you okay, darling, you seem unusually sluggish this morning?" Loki asked him, gently rubbing his back.

"I guess I am feeling a bit unwell." Benny mumbled.

Loki frowns, furrowing their eyebrows, as they press the back of their hand to Benny's forehead.

"Hmm, you are rather warm. What hurts, my darling?" Loki sighed, stroking their son's head.

"My ear." Benny replied.

"Oh dear, another ear infection." Loki thought to themself.

Benny was quite prone to ear infections and would get them often. Loki pulls back Benny's bangs and presses a kiss to his hairline, then they go over to the cabinet where the medicine is kept. Unfortunately, they were low on eardrops and only have enough for one dose.

"I'm gonna have to call Mobius and tell him to get eardrops on his way home." Loki mumbled quietly.

In addition to the eardrops, Loki also grabs something to bring down Benny's mild fever.

"Eydis, watch your sister while I take care of your brother for a moment." Loki told their eldest daughter.

"Okay, Poppy." Eydis replied.

"Poppy, is something wrong with Benny?" Astrid asked.

"He's feeling ill, so I'm going to put him to bed to rest." Loki answered.

"Okay. Feel better, Benny." Astrid said.

"Thanks." Benny told his sister.

Loki leads Benny to his room, then tucks him into bed and gives him his medicine.

"Would you like me to sit with you until you fall asleep?" Loki asked as they place a cotton ball into Benny's ear.

"Yes, please." Benny nodded.

The god sits on the edge of their son's bed and rubbed his back as they sang the lullaby their mother sang to them every time they were sick as a child. When Benny fell asleep, Loki kissed his cheek then went to their room and grabbed their flip-phone. They call Mobius and wait for him to pick up.

"Loki, what's up? I'm kinda busy right now." Mobius said answering his flip-phone.

"I know, love, but this will only take a moment. Benny has another ear infection." Loki told their husband.

"Again? Ah, poor little guy. Did you give him the eardrops?" Mobius said, sounding concerned.

"Yes, but it was the last of it. Can you pick up more on your way home?" Loki requested.

"Of course, anything for my kids." Mobius replied.

The couple say their goodbyes then hang up. Loki returns to the kitchen and sits with their daughters.

"What did you draw, my beautiful princesses?" Loki asked.

"I drew a purple alligator." Astrid said holding up the drawing she did.

"And I drew our family. Over here is you and Daddy, over here is Auntie Sylvie and Auntie Bea, and right here is me, Benny, and Astrid." Eydis said pointing to each person in the drawing.

"These are absolutely exquisite, you both are wonderful artists." Loki told the girls.

"Thank you, Poppy!" Astrid said smiling.

"Thanks, Poppy." Eydis said.

"Go put these on the fridge so Daddy can see them when he gets home." Loki said.

Eydis and Astrid get up from the table and go put their drawings on the fridge. For the rest of the day, Loki watched cartoons with the girls, did some chores, and periodically checked in on Benny. At the office, Mobius and Bea are getting ready to clock out.

"We have to stop at Walgreens before heading home, Benny's got an ear infection again, and we ran out of eardrops." Mobius told his friend.

"Poor kid, hope he feels better." Bea said.

The two of them get into the car and drive to Walgreens. Bea stayed in the car while Mobius went inside. He heads over to the medicine aisle and starts looking for the eardrops.

"Hello, Mobius." a soothe female voice said from behind.

Mobius freezes, immediately recognizing the voice. He turns around and is faced with someone he thought he'd never see again.

"R-Ravonna." Mobius said, his voice shaking.

"What kind of greeting is that for an old friend?" Ravonna asked.

"You're not my friend, you never were. I was nothing but a pawn to you." Mobius replied, a little braver.

"What do you want?" he asked her, thinking of ways to get the h*ll out of there.

"You, Hunter B-15, and those variants destroyed everything I worked so hard for." Ravonna growled angrily.

"Her name is Bea, she's a person, not a number. We were all people, but you just treated us like toy soldiers that you could just throw away and replace when it suited you." Mobius replied, clenching his fists.

"You think you can just destroy my life's work and then go about your life without facing the consequences? You took everything from me, so now I'm gonna take everything from you." Ravonna said.

She turns around, grabs something off the shelf, and places it in Mobius's hand. It was the eardrops he was looking for. With one last cold, hard stare, Ravonna walks away and leaves the store. A giant pang of fear landed in the pit of Mobius's stomach. If Ravonna knew about the eardrops...that meant she knew about the kids....and that meant Benny, Eydis, and Astrid were in danger.
