Thor is the first to wake up, and he quietly makes his way to the kitchen, careful not to wake up his new house guests. As he's starting the coffee pot, he glances into the living room where his brother-in-law laid sprawled on the floor, snoring.
"I have great pity for that man's back." Thor said with a light laugh.
While Thor is pouring himself some coffee, he heard two pairs of small feet pitter-patter on the hardwood floor.
"Good morning." Thor said cheerfully to the little girls who were peering around the corner.
Eydis and Astrid waved shyly, the younger sister clinging to the older.
"Oh, don't be shy, I won't bite." Thor said gently.
"Is Loki awake?" he asked.
"Nah, Poppy's still sleeping." Eydis replied slowly entering the kitchen, her little sister trailing behind her.
"I figured. Them and your father were quite stressed last night. Are you girls hungry? What would you like to eat for breakfast?" Thor said taking a sip of his coffee.
"Can we have some cereal please." Eydis asked, Astrid nodding in agreement.
"Sure, but all I have is Captain Crunch, will that be okay?" Thor replied.
"Yeah, we love Captain Crunch." Astrid said as she and her sister sat at the table.
The thunder god takes out two small bowls and pours the cereal into it, then the milk. Then he smiles as he fondly remembers the time Tony once fussed at him for putting the milk before the cereal...as if it was some horrid atrocity.
"Here you go." Thor said placing the bowls of cereal in front of his nieces.
"Thank you, Uncle Thor." both girls told him before they started to eat their cereal.
"Yay, I'm an uncle." Thor said quietly to himself, smiling widely.
He makes himself a bowl of cereal as well and joins his nieces at the table. Meanwhile, in the spare room, Loki wakes up and notices that their daughters weren't beside them. For just a moment, they freaked out, their heart pounding in their chest...they were a parent after all. But once they were more awake they remembered that them and their family were safe in Thor's home and they calmed down. They figured that the girls were probably with either their father or Thor.
"I need a shower." Loki said getting out of bed.
Loki walks into the bathroom, takes off their clothes, and steps into the shower. The warm water running down their back felt wonderful. After they washed their body and hair, Loki steps out of the shower and grabs a towel. As they stand in front of the mirror, drying themself off, Loki looks at their reflection and feels not quite like themself. So, Loki transforms into their feminine form.
"That's better." Loki said, drying off her hair and wrapping the towel around herself.
She goes back into the bedroom and gets dressed. The goddess puts on the dress her husband got for her for their anniversary one year, then she puts on a denim jacket and a pair of ankle boots.
Once dressed, Loki goes out into the living room where her husband and son were still sleeping.
"Morning, Poppy!" Astrid called from the kitchen table.
"Good morning, princess." Loki replied kissing her daughter's head.
Then she kisses her other daughter's head and hugs her brother, telling them 'good morning'.
"The coffee is in the pot." Thor told Loki.
"Ooh, yes, poppy needs her coffee." Loki said swiftly heading over to the coffee pot.
She pours herself some coffee then uses her magic to make it to her liking.
"Thor, do you have oatmeal?" Loki asked her brother.
"Yes, in that cabinet over there." Thor replied, pointing to the cabinet.
When Loki looks into the cabinet, she finds her favorite type of oatmeal, triple berry. She makes her oatmeal with milk then puts in some brown sugar and maple syrup once it's hot.
"It's been quite a long time since I've seen this form of yours." Thor said as Loki sat next to him.
"Yeah, I think the last time you saw me as a woman was..." Loki said then furrowed her brows in thought.
"A month before the coronation ceremony where you let frost giants into Asgard." Thor answered.
Clenching her jaw, Loki grips the handle of her coffee mug tightly.
"I-I didn't intend to bring up any bad memories, I'm sorry." Thor apologized.
"I know, brother, don't fret." Loki assured her brother.
"You look lovely today." Thor said trying to make his sister feel better.
"Thank you, Thor." Loki replied smiling.
Their conversation was interrupted when Mobius wakes up groaning. He slowly rolls off his back then gets onto his knees, his back making a few popping noises.
"Sleeping on the floor was a bad idea." Mobius grunted.
"You know, I could've conjured you a cot or something if you had asked." Loki chuckled.
"Good morning to you too, kitten." Mobius said smirking at his wife.
Next, Benny wakes up with a yawn and a few light coughs.
"Hey, Benny, how are you feeling?" Mobius asked softly, running his hand through his son's hair, then settling it on his forehead.
"Slightly better." Benny mumbled.
"That's good to hear, and your fever has gone down. I'm gonna go get your medicine." Mobius said patting Benny's chest then standing up.
As Mobius went retrieve the medicine, Loki goes over to her son and sits on the edge of the couch.
"Good morning, my darling, are you hungry?" Loki asked.
"Mhm." Benny nodded.
"What would you like to eat?" Loki replied.
"Just some toast with butter and honey." Benny told her.
When Loki gets up to make breakfast for her son, Mobius returns to the boy's side and gives him his medicine.
"What do you want, Mobius?" Loki asked her husband.
"Some scrambled eggs and bacon, and some coffee too." Mobius answered.
After everyone ate breakfast, the kids sat in the living room and watched cartoons while the adults sat in the kitchen and discussed what to do next.
"Have either of you heard from Sylvie or Bea yet?" Thor asked the couple.
"No, we haven't...and that worries me." Loki sighed anxiously.
Mobius reaches out and takes hold of Loki's hand, rubbing her knuckles with his thumb. Her shoulders relax once Mobius reminds her that both Sylvie and Bea are tough as nails.
"Would you like me to also inform the rest of the Avengers of the situation?" Thor asked Loki, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm not sure....the, um, last time I saw some of them...I had just been pounded into the floor by a giant green rage monster." Loki replied.
"Don't worry, sister, that was a long time ago, they won't hold the New York invasion against you. I can assure you that you will be just as welcome among them as you are here." Thor assured her.
"They'll help keep your children safe and search for your missing friends." he added.
Loki was wary of meeting the Avengers again, but trusted her brother's words. After all even when she was fighting against them she still found Romanoff the most tolerable of the Avengers...and Banner, but not so much the Hulk, sometimes her back still hurts thinking about being tossed around like a rag doll.
