I broke out of my trance when I heard a scream. I turned to look and there Johanna was in the company of two women holding her back as she wanted to run to the lake. Two more men came and took her away. Tristan grabbed my hand. "Come-on let's go". We got into his car and drove back to his house. He got out of the car and quickly went inside leaving me stunned at his abrupt exit. I shrugged and got out of the car and inside the house. I looked around and Tristan was nowhere to be seen. Frowning i wanted to find him but I decided against it and went to sit down in the parlor.
A few minutes later I felt movement and I quickly looked up making my eyes clash with Tristan's. He had changed into a black top and grey sweatpants, his hair was still wet but he didn’t mean to mind it. He sat down next to me and then silence. Feeling a little uncontrollable I decide to break it “I’m sorry about your friend Theodore” he nodded and took a deep breath. “Theodore was my best friend, he is also the nicest person I know, he would sometimes get bullied by other member of the pack because he was a late bloomer and his wolf is also on the small size” he clenched his eyes and then open it again “you know whoever said only the good die young is absolutely right” I wanted to give him comfort so I hesitantly reaches out and took his hand, he didn’t brush it off. “He was a sad child and will always stay on his on. The Alpha organized a event and we all went to Canada...it was there he met Joanna on one of his hikes. One look at her and he instantly fell in love with her and she was also his mate. Even though she was human..she was accepting of him as a wolf. He loved her to death and she also did him. I’ve never seen him so happy like he was at his wedding, then they gave birth to little Noah my godson and…..” he stood up and started pacing around “my revenge will come swiftly. They didn’t spare that baby…Death is only the beginning” I felt chills down my spine and the atmosphere turn dark.
“What does Dimitri mean by Unfortunate?” He paused his pacing and turned to stared at me “That’s Alpha Dimitri to you. It must always be there when addressing him as a sign of respect. It’s a punishable offense” I tensed when he said that “what do you mean unfortunate?” he asked “well D-The Alpha was saying that Joanna surviving is unfortunate” for the first time I saw sadness on Tristan’s face.
"When wolfs mate, it's for life. When they die..their spirit is also bonded but the condition is that for them to be together in the afterlife they have to both die of natural causes but in the case of Johanna.... she's human and she won't be able to be with them in the afterlife because she was left alive and the gateway has been closed Though sad it is the most cruel punishment" my eyes widened at that and I suddenly felt bad for Joanna.
"So what will happen to her?" I asked and he sighed "when she eventually dies her spirit will just float remain. in human terms she becomes a walking dead, a wandering soul"his fist clenched at that and he release a growl. Wandering soul?. She really is a poor unfortunate soul. "Surely you can do something...who makes the rules..the hellhound..." He shook his head "we only escort them there but the one who makes the rules would not change it.... Because he did it to punish two lovers for their betrayal against him. All I know is his name is Lord Raven" I smiled sadly well that's that on it.
A knock interrupted our conversation and he went to answer it. "Beta Tristan" he bowed slowly "what is it?" Tristan asked and my heart sank knowing it's a bad news again "mrs Joanna has unfortunately passed away...she was found dead in the storeroom with a knife that she had used to stab herself" my heart broke at the news.
Tristan nodded slowly "her body has been transported... I'll take my leave now" he left and Tristan locked the door. I look at him confused. "You aren't going?" I asked him "She will be buried In the human burial site" he went back and sat down on the couch. "Are you tired?" He asked and I shook my head.
He suddenly picked me up and on his lap. His hand went around my waist and he pulled me to his chest. "My parents" I perked up at that but he didn't say more. He turned me to face him and then pulled me into a kiss he placed me on my feet. "You are tired, why don't you go take a nap" it wasn't a question but a statement and i couldn't help but agree. I'm emotionally drained. I waked to my room and collapsed on the bed. All these events is tiring and I have no one to talk to. Ellie is still angry with me also. This is all too much...my eyes slowly closed and I fell into a dreamless sleep. In my dream state I felt my self been dragged into a hard chest it was really warm and I smiled at how I was feeling. I closed my eyes and want went back to sleep.
