I looked at the gun gleaming in my hand, the icy grip on the gun no longer reassuring. In fact it was the direct opposite, the gun felt like a heavy burden weighing down my arm. I dropped the gun in disgust, I choose now to become a coward. When he wouldn't have hesitated to kill me, I froze up. The reason behind this I don't know, but I do know it will not happen again. I will pull the trigger next time, any qualms I had moment ago are long gone.
Right now I needed to get out of here, B.L.A.C.K is all around this place. I hear their muffled scuffling closing in. And if the gentle smell of ozone was anything to go by, there about to plant a bomb, which I'm sure I wouldn't survive just sitting here. I jumped up, opening my shed, as soon as I was in I went directly to the back wall shoving all the cement bricks out of the way rapidly. I hissed lightly as the rocky bits cut across my my knuckles and palms. As I touched the cool body of the bin I sighed in delight, in it I found my extra ammo, a spare gun, a bullet proof vest and car keys. Then I roughly pried up the bin and dug into the earth below, the sting in my hand reminding me that I'd have to clean those cuts later to prevent infection, as my hand rubbed against the suede box I quickly yanked it from the dry earth. I was aware of the time rapidly deteriorating, 2 minutes and 27 seconds and I had to get out.
I strapped on the vest, made sure the guns safety on and slipped it into the hem of my pants. I then slipped the keys into my pocket then stepped out the shed climbing the fence and quickly surveying my surroundings. Seems like they've cleared out far enough to be clear of the explosion. I jumped over and ran about 6 feet, before I heard the low piercing ring followed by the loud BANG of the bomb going off. I was immediately thrown to the ground feeling the heat sear my back, then I was overcome by darkness.
-----------------------------------------FLASH BACK -------------------------------------------------------------------
"Would you like to see the baby?"
"No" I answered with certainty, it will only fill me with remorse.
"Would you like to know whether it's a boy or girl atleast?"
I didn't want to know, I really didn't but I couldn't bring myself to say no. The doctor took my hesisitation as an affirmitive.
"It's a boy Miss."
"Any names you want to give him before he goes to his foster parents?"
"I- I can't think of any."
"..... The father maybe?"
I nodded. "Markus, I want to name him Markus."
I watched the doctor nod and leave the room. I have to get out of here, I've been here too long and i don't need B.L.A.C.K closing in on me here in the hospital. I can't let them know about the baby. Him either.
------------------------------ END OF FLASHBACK------------------------------------------------------------
"Take care please Lilo" That voice.
"Mark?" I heard a scuffle then silence, I opened my eyes and looked up to see a tree- the big oak across from my yard. I was actually comfortably seated with my back against the tree. How I got here so far from the house I dont know, but I didnt have time to sit there and think I had to get out of here.
