It all seemed too sudden.

The day went by as quickly as a blink in (Y/n)'s eyes. The grave was done in a short amount of time, the coffin filled with beautiful pastel flowers. Everything was ready and set for that girl who would meet her demise tomorrow.

The sinking feeling in (Y/n)'s stomach grew and grew. Something was wrong, she could feel it. Staring at the grave was all she could do at the moment. Staring in disbelief, worry, and maybe even anger. Gray never came back that day, Cathy never made an annoying announcement, Danny had told (Y/n) he would help them escape, and Zack had been oddly quiet. Not to mention...Eddie...

Eddie was so unbelievably happy, it almost brought tears to (Y/n)'s eyes. She had never seen him so genuinely joyous and all for this girl he had never met. Everything just seemed wrong.

"(Y/n)...your food is gonna get cold."

(Y/n) quickly turned to see Eddie at the bottom of the steps which led to the garden. She had noticed he was in his pajamas already, having a concerned expression plastered on his face. She wondered if she had a worried look too. "...Ah...Eddie..."

She looked back at the grave before going down the steps to him. He gave her a weak smile, grabbing her hand. "C'mon, you need to get ready for bed too."

"Mhm..."

Eddie tilted his head a bit. "Why do you keep staring at Rachel's grave? Is there something wrong? Oh no! Is it not pretty enough?!"

"No! No...I...I was just..." (Y/n) squeezed Eddie's hand tight while gazing at the ground. "...isn't this just too weird? I mean...she's coming so quickly..."

"Mmm." Eddie hums in agreement.

"It worries me...Gray hasn't been here all day and the other angels have been awfully quiet."

Eddie puts his index finger on his lips, looking upward as he thought. "I guess that's true, huh? Either way, I'm happy that I get the chance to make her mine!"

(Y/n) shrugged. "I guess so."

"You seem annoyed. Did I do something?" Eddie asks, now a bit timid. Obviously he wouldn't want that.

"No, no, I'm just worrying..." (Y/n) smiled briefly, looking off. "...that something bad will happen."

Eddie pauses before pressing his hand against hers with the same amount of force she was using. "There's nothing to worry about. I'll be fine, I swear it! Cause I'm a brave grav-!"

(Y/n) lets go of Eddie's hand, wrapping her arms around him and holding him close. "—A brave grave keeper. I know. But...it doesn't matter how brave you are, you can still get hurt. Especially when you're so..."

"So...?"

(Y/n) giggled. "Nevermind."

The night came faster than ever, the blue moon shining down on the large facility where all the murderers were free to kill as much as they wanted. Maybe it was too good to be true, (Y/n) thought. As soon as she was sworn in as an Angel, her life has been a thousand times better. All for the cost of nothing. It felt off.

Her life was too merciful now, it worried her.

(Y/n) laid in bed with no sense of tiredness, even after she hadn't slept for a day. Something was really bothering her deep down. Was it that Rachel girl? Maybe the fact Eddie was so excited for her to come? She didn't know.
