HI! I've been waiting to post this story for forever, and I finally think now is a good time! Plz comment and tell me what I can do better.
Also, what side ships for different characters do you want me to include? Side characters include everyone from IW and Engame.
Plz enjoy.
Bucky POV
"Don't do anything stupid until I get back," I told Steve as I stepped back towards the two women that just called for me. This was my last New York World's Fair until I left for Europe, and I wanted to spend it with my best friend, but if he wasn't up for it. I wasn't going to push.
"How can I?" Steve smirked. "You're taking all the stupid with you." Even on the stairs to the United States Armed Services Recruitment building, he was shorter than me.
Screw it, I thought as I walked up to Steve.
"You're a punk," I mumbled to Steve as I wrapped my arms around him.
"Jerk," Steve responded. He patted me on the back as he embraced my hug. "Be careful."
I pulled out of the hug and turned to walk back to the ladies. I was kind of disappointed this would be my last conversation with Steve, but I would do whatever he wanted.
"Don't win the war till I get there!" Steve called after me.I smiled and turned, giving Steve a mocking salute. I admired his determination, and wished I could have it too, but I also knew at this rate, Steve would never get on the ship. He smiled, and I turned to the women.
"Come on, girls," I said as the ladies rushed to my side, grabbing my arms. "They're playing our song." In honesty, I didn't even know what song it was, but I needed to make them feel special. I turned to give Steve one last look, but he had already gone inside. My smile faltered for a second, but then I plastered one back on my face and went with the women.
We rushed over to the building where the music was coming from. The blonde, Connie, grabbed my arms, and pulled them around her waist. I swallowed. Even though I played it cool, I was extremely uncomfortable with having these women around. It was nothing personal, but they just weren't it.
I wasn't sure who I wanted, but I was going to fight my way through Nazis to find her. But first I needed to get out of this.
Connie giggled, oblivious to my discomfort, and leaned in for a kiss.
Bold, are you? I thought, looking around quickly for a food or man or anything that could distract her. I spotted a man in a suit walking towards us, and I devised a plan in two seconds flat.
I grabbed the man by the arm as Connie was an inch away in a friendly way, smiled, and said, "Tom! I haven't seen you in a while!"
The man tensed as Connie pulled back and quirked an eyebrow. He looked at me, anger, disgust, and confusion in his green eyes. I smiled even wider, trying to send him a telepathic plea to just go with it, to help me out.
His eyes quickly wandered to the tag on my uniform, before he broke a smile.
"James!" He said. "Indeed it has."
I took my hand off his arm and tried to hide my relief. "I told you last time to call me Bucky. You need to start listening."
The man faked a laugh. I took that as a cue to continue. "Wanna buy a drink, man?"
"Why not?" He said. I sent a fake apologetic look at Connie, who currently looked like a kicked puppy, before turning with the man and walking towards a bar.
