Hi! I haven't updated in forever and I'm sry but here it is!

Also, in my last soccer game, I scored my first goal in two years!

That may seem bad but I'm a center defend so i barely get to even be on that side of the field.

Bucky POV

"That was Steve?" Loki asked for the fifth time. We had sat down on a cushioned bench in the hallway, and he still seemed to be consuming this information.

"Mmhmm," I hummed, polishing my gun out of boredom.

Then a rush of anger came over me,and out of spite, I added, "He was the guy you tried to kill when you tried to take over the world." I emphasized the end of my sentence, making sure he understood that I was mad.

He shamefully looked down. I didn't know he could be ashamed. "That wasn't me," Loki said softly, fiddling with his hands. I had hit some sore subject, but I didn't know what. But then again, he was the god of lies. He was trying to trick me. I kept my face neutral.

"No?" I asked, standing up and walking down the hallway. I didn't know where I was going yet, but I couldn't look Loki in the eye. I would fall for his trick if I let him act sad.

He stood up and started following me. I groaned, but was secretly glad he was still there. He was in new company, even if he was evil.

"Well," He started. "It was me, but, uh..." He paused, but it didn't look like he was trying to find a cover story. It looked like he was trying to explain it carefully.

"Thanos," Loki said, and his voice quivered slightly. "He captured me after I left Asgard by falling off the rainbow bridge. He did things to me, made me his puppet. And it was me in New York, but Thanos was pulling the strings."

I considered what he was saying. It would make sense and explain why he wanted to stop Thanos so badly. It would explain the way he's changed.

But how could Thanos find Loki if he fell off the rainbow bridge. As far as anyone knows- and I knew because I studied Asgard after finding out he was alive- there was only an abyss under the bridge. What would a titan be doing in an abyss? It was a lie. Maybe Loki knew Thanos, and maybe Thanos hurt him, but Loki's known for playing both sides, and if Thanos threatened him, he would comply.

"You're lying," I decided without looking back for his reaction, but I could hear his small, desperate gasp.

"You think I would work with, much less willingly coexist, with the man who killed my brother?" He asked me.

"I think you're full of a bunch of dirty, little tricks," I said, turning the corner, and his footsteps behind me didn't falter.

"Yes, but I-" He cut himself off with a gasp, and I turned on instinct. He was on his hands and knees, taking quick breaths. I looked around, but no one else was there. There was no blood, no visible injuries, but when Loki looked up again, there was something different in his eyes. Was it fear?

"Loki?" I asked tentatively, gripping my gun. "Are you okay?"

He stood up slowly. "Thanos has another stone. The last two are on Earth."

All my worry washed away. "Cut with the tricks."

Loki scoffed. "I'm not playing any tricks."

"Don't-" He cut me off.

"James," He said seriously, looking me in the eye. "I've lied and double-crossed everyone in my life. You can't trust me. But, you can trust that I never let myself get fond of people, especially humans. If you're the one human I ever grew fond of, and if I'm working with Thanos, why would he send me to the place you are?"
