New Chapter! Who else is hyped for What If? I'm mainly watching for zombie Steve and Unadopted Loki, but I can't wait for all of it.
Also, do you guys want fat Thor in this story, or not?
Who should Loki build a friendship with? All characters from Infinty War are options.
Anyways, here's the chapter! Plz comment and enjoy!
Bucky POV
I hesitated before knocking. I felt stupid, but I had to do it.
Shuri opened the door to her lab after I knocked. "Good morning, Bucky. How was your rest?" She asked, her Wakandan accent thick as ever.
"Good," I responded. I paused before continuing. "Do you think I could... come in?"
"Of course," She stepped to the side, and I came in. Her lab was way beyond any technology I had ever seen. Two circular ramps lead up to a second level, and both levels were filled with a large assortment of things I couldn't place.
"What do you need?" She asked as she pulled two chairs in front of a large screen.
"I wanna catch up," I admitted. I moved my arm to fiddle with my hands, but after a second, I remembered I only had one arm.
"What do you mean?" Shuri asked, smiling, but she still looked at my arm. She had asked me over and over again to give me a replacement arm, but I refused. It reminded me too much of my time as the Winter Soldier, and that wasn't something I wanted to relive.
"What did I miss? I got my brain wiped a lot in the past hundred years. I probably missed a lot of things."
Shuri nodded. "Well, what do you know?"
I thought for a minute. I remembered that we won the war, but I don't know how. I also knew something big happened in New York, but I didn't know what. I told this to Shuri.
Shuri held up a Kimoyo bead. It showed a screen full of men in uniforms, a lot like mine from the war. "The Allies had better bombs and planes. That is practically it. They also had the entire rest of the world. Germany only had Italy and Japan, which America bombed with a new atomic bomb."
"What year?" I asked, leaning on my arm, which was resting on my knee. I felt old. Compared to the advanced tech of Shuri's lab, I looked ancient with my brown tunic that made me look like Jesus.
"The war ended on September 2, 1945," Shuri read as words popped up on the hologram.
"And Hitler?" I asked, though with less enthusiasm as it should have been. I spent two years trying to get to Hitler, but now, after everything I had been through, I couldn't find myself to care anymore than just to make sure I knew what everyone else knew.
"Suicide," She responded before the Kimoyo bead even changed the hologram. I froze for a second. Hitler, who wanted to kill everyone and loved himself more than god, killed himself?
"So what else happened?" I asked when I recovered from my shock. Shuri thought for a moment, maybe thinking about the past experiences of the world.
"9/11," She answered, and the Kimoyo bead hologram switched to an image of two tall buildings with smoke pouring out of them. I could practically hear the screams. I realized that there were planes stuck in the buildings. The caption read: The World Trade Centers and everyone inside them were victims to a terrorist attack, where two planes ran into the towers.
"HYDRA," I mumbled.
Shuri faltered. "What do you mean? This was caused by Al-Qaeda."
"No," I mumbled, thinking about how the HYDRA agents had talked about bombing the World Trade Center.
