ARTIE

It was her, the girl I saw earlier.

Before she looked happier and bouncier and now she looked tired and distraught. She sat on the bar stall but rested her head on her arm which lay on the bar.

I smiled at her and shook my head at her question and I could see disappointment flash through her eyes.

The boy who came with her looked deep in thought sitting a few places down from the girl with ginger hair. She blinked her eyes slowly as if trying to stay awake.

"Can I have a drink?" asked the boy suddenly. His hoodie hung loose around his shoulders and I could tell he wasn't old enough and that it wouldn't be legal.

"Aren't you underage?" I asked.

He sighed and I could see him mouth the word 'Bullshit!' I smiled to myself and carefully poured the beer into a plastic cup before passing it to him over the bar.

"Are you serious?" the boy asked. I laughed.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Olly" came the reply.

"Well Olly, it's your lucky day. But you didn't get that from me" the girl was watching intently. I walked up to her.

"What's your name?" I asked more softly.

"Are you gonna tell me I'm underage as well and then give me a drink?" she teased.

I shrugged "only if you want one".

She slowly sat up, "Can I have a cider?"

I quickly poured some into a cup and held it out to her but before she could take it I said "Your name for a cider".

She laughed, "Tilly" and she took it holding it carefully in her hands.

Tilly looked younger than Olly, about 16. She sipped her drink looking a lot less worried.

"So where are you heading too next?" I asked either one.

Tilly replied, "We'll go and see Blur."

Olly looked confused, "What about Lizzie?" he asked.

Tilly nodded "She might be there."

"Blur. Nice choice!" I nodded approvingly.

Tilly hopped down from the stool still clutching her drink. Olly seemed less reluctant to wanting to go but when Tilly called his name he took the last sip of his beer and followed her out of the tent.

"Well I might see you later?" I said not wanting them to go. Not wanting Tilly to go. The creative, friendly, beautiful girl to go. The creative, friendly, beautiful girl who made my heart flutter a little. But I couldn't stop her and before I knew it, she was gone. I know you shouldn't judge a girl on looks but I felt like id known her for years.

Justin banged on the bar with both of his fists making a booming sound which only just cut across the music. The night sky was black and a few stars twinkled but the moon was just a slither in the sky.

"Where have you been?" I asked trying to sound annoyed and already knowing the answer to my question. Justin was looking at me laughing so hard I thought his eye balls would pop out of his head.

"You have to meet Matt, he is the funniest person EVER!" he burst out laughing again. That's the good thing about Justin, he makes friends easily. When he's drunk anyway.

"Go on, go and have some fun" he says in a slurred voice.

"Are you sure you can look after the bar in this condition?"

Justin puts his middle finger up at me and pushes me out from behind the bar. I let him, secretly wanting to go and find Olly and Tilly, especially Tilly.

"Be a good boy now" I say jokingly.

"You mean man" said Justin laughing and putting his arms up flexing his muscles and kissing his bicep.

I walked away still laughing and lit a cigarette maybe containing more than just tobacco.

The yellow field was packed. People were running to the different tents a little late for the shows. I looked out for Tilly and Olly but didn't manage to see them anywhere. Where was Blur playing? I looked at the app on my phone. It slowly loaded and I cursed it for being so slow.

Yellow field, tent no.5- Blur 10:30pm

Blur weren't going to start playing for at least half an hour so where were Tilly and Olly?

I sighed angrily my hope of maybe seeing them again slowly fading. I decided to just forget it and hope to meet some more interesting people. I looked around not knowing what to do next!
