[[Draco's POV]]
Yellow, white, blue, black, red. What the fuck do those colors mean?
I stared at the bracelet on Parkinson's wrist as the stone linked to Eleanor's kept changing. I had no fucking clue what moods the different colors corresponded to, but something was happening if it was changing so quickly.
"Easy, mate, you're shaking the whole desk," Nott whispered next to me.
My bouncing knee immediately stilled. I hadn't even realized I was doing it. I could feel Nott still watching me, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from the stone as it continued to cycle through colors.
"I'm sure she's fine. Relax, or you're going to give yourself a bloody stroke."
I uncurled my fists, knuckles popping as I did from my fingers being bound so tightly. Then suddenly, the stone went clear, all trace of color gone.
My whole body jerked, and my fists instinctually balled back up. "Parkinson! Parkinson! What does that mean?"
"What?" She hissed as she whipped her head around.
I ignored her annoyed tone and pointed at her bracelet. "Her stone! What does it mean when it's clear?"
She rolled her eyes. "Merlin, Malfoy, it means she took her bracelet off!"
I gave her a confused look, and she huffed and shook her head.
"The last color was black. Black means stressed. When she's stressed, she takes a hot shower. She obviously doesn't shower with the bracelet on. Now calm the fuck down!" She spat, keeping her voice low to avoid drawing Flitwick's attention.
I sat back in my chair and raked my hands through my hair, resisting the urge to pull on the strands until pain shot across my scalp.
I shut my eyes, and Eleanor's voice drifted through my head. "Don't worry. I'll see you after class, ok?"
Don't worry? Easier said than done, love.
I glanced at the clock on the wall and let out a sharp exhale at the time. Eight thirty-five.
Bleeding hell. Over an hour and a half until I can get out of this fucking class.
I glanced over my shoulder and silently wished Crabbe or Goyle would somehow reverse the Bubble-Head Charm and suffocate themselves so the Professor would have to end the lesson early to take them to the Hospital Wing.
Where are those fucking Weasel twins when you actually need them to blow up a classroom?
I tried to focus on Flitwick's insufferable voice, but my eyes kept drifting to the clock. I finally gave up and watched as the hands moved at a glacial pace, counting down the seconds until class was over and I could get to Eleanor. When the bell finally rang, I was up and out of the room before it stopped chiming.
I made my way through the corridors as quickly as I could without looking like an idiot, pushing past anyone too stupid to move out of my fucking way.
"Malfoy! Slow down, for Salazar's sake!" Nott hollered from behind me, but I ignored him and let the group fall further behind.
I should have tried harder to convince her to take some more time off.
But she wouldn't have been happy about that.
And as if I could make her do something she didn't want to do.
The thought of her beautiful face turning red as she pointed a finger in my face, lecturing me on how she would make her own decisions, almost made me crack a smile, but then another wave of worry pushed it back.
