Chapter 2 let's gooooo

Forgot to mention this story is gonna take place in the span of a week + 1 day. It's sort of an experiment to see if I'm able to write blooming romance in a short time without it looking forced, so pls bear with me making this silly and hella self-indulgent gdgd

Edit: Wattpad REALLY messed with my writing and I didn't notice until weeks after posting this AAAAAA tried to fix it

On his second day as a superhero, Shaun realized something about Bitzer's job he never thought about before: most of the 'so exciting' task of guarding others and being ready to jump into action, actually consisted on waiting for something to happen in the first place.

There was a reason why their sheepdog was always with a magazine or taking a nap when the only task left was watching over the sheep. Waiting was the most boring thing in the world, and in a job like this there was no option but to train one's focus so it could multitask.

Shaun still had to learn that. He got excited with the day full of action that was yesterday and had put his superhero suit on as soon as the sheep hesitantly scattered over the field. So far, Super Sheep's day had consisted of sitting over abranch of a tree, hidden between the leaves and observing nothing happening at all.

A good thing on one hand, since his famil ywasn't being bothered, but bad on the other because he was booored.

Finally to save him from that torture, from the corner of his eye Shaun noticed movement: a fuzzy yellow figure leaning over the gate underneath the tree.

He grinned, then stood up on the branch without a second thought.

Today Bitzer wasn't having the best of days, precisely. Trying to remain watchful while busy with tasks was something difficult alone, but now that he was informed of how the pigs had been on the hunt of victims for their pranks lately, and without him noticing at all? The extra effort that task required now certainly wasn't a path of roses.

Bitzer sighed. Well, all the got was a break for now, so at least he could rela-

He yelped at the sight of a sheep in red clothing suddenly handing upside down beside him. Between the scare and the leaves softly falling around him, Bitzer managed to recognize the sheep in a cape bleating a greeting. It was the superhero guy from yesterday!

Who, for some reason, had been hiding in a tree in their farm.

The weirdness didn't end there as the guy casually did a stunt from the tree to end sitting on the fence, only to just...start talking to Bitzer. A small talk out if the blue, without a drop of the usual hesitation of not knowing what to talk about with a stranger.

Bitzer didn't notice himself staring in utter confusion until the guy turned his head to him. The hero suddenly seemed to realize his odd approach as he widened his eyes and looked away. If Bitzer tilted his head a little, he could see the guy was grimacing as well.

The dog arched a brow. Again, it was weird, but Bitzer didn't want to make whatever this was awkward either, so he...slowly answered the guy's question. Not as confident as him, not with much idea of what to talk about, but it was something.

The hero's smile radiated relief.

They talked about anything that came to mind(the farm, yesterday's events, why the hero was there exactly). Bitzer still couldn't say he wasn't confused about the guy, dropping out of nowhere and being so talkative and friendly and...relaxed sitting with him of all people. Sheep weren't usually so trusty with strangers.
