You deeply exhaled as your eyes opened up to the white popcorn ceiling above you. While your vision adjusted, you felt an item resting on your chest and gave it a light tug, feeling the wire pull on the arm it was connected to. You followed the wire to its source, a hospital monitor displaying your vitals, and nearly fainted at the sight behind it.
The person resting on the couch rushed to your side, softly cupping your face in his hands, "Jagiya," he cooed with a pitiful expression.
"Just get the doctor," you swatted his hand away and decided not to cause a scene since your daughter was sleeping on the hospital room couch.
You couldn't remember much about what happened and could only recall a small detail: leaving your bedroom in the middle of the night and entering Tae-seol's room. Although that recollection was mostly fuzzy, you could still conjure up a reason or two as to why you were in the hospital. After all, it didn't take much knowledge to know that many sleepless nights and unintentionally missing meals would eventually take their toll on you.
And it wasn't like you meant to stay up all night or starve yourself. You were always occupied with either your thoughts or Tae-seol and Taehyung, so you didn't think much about your health. Even Taehyung failed to notice you weren't eating or sleeping as much as you're supposed to; granted, his time living with you was short. But now that you were in the hospital, you realized you needed to start taking care of yourself for both you and your daughter. It would be selfish if your actions caused you to leave her life early.
"Ms. Kim," the doctor greeted you as he walked into the room, his foreign accent quickly grabbing your attention. "I hope you're feeling at least a bit better. I'm Dr. Clifford, and before we move forward, I'd like to assure you that there is nothing too serious to be worried about," he paused, and you quickly nodded as he looked at you with his mesmerizing green eyes.
"That's good to know," you said with a smile, fighting back the urge to stare at the person behind him.
"Sure is," he replied. "Now, your scans and test results came back clean. There was no trauma caused by your fall or anything abnormal found, and you weren't out for too long, so you should feel just fine when we send you home. Though, that doesn't mean you're perfectly healthy.
"I don't mean to offend you, Ms. Kim, but judging by your appearance, I could tell that you haven't been taking care of yourself. It's important to me that you take great care of yourself and your daughter. We wouldn't want her finding you passed out on the floor again."
"I'm aware of that, Dr. Clifford."
"Do you have anything questions for me? If not, you may get ready to leave," he asked, and I shook my head. "Your boyfriend and I already discussed your living arrangements, so I trust you'll be in good health with him watching over you. Have a good morning, and remember, it's okay to not be okay, Ms. Kim," he hinted at a deeper reason and offered me a smile before closing the door behind him.
"Please tell me you did not tell him I'm living with you!" I shouted at him the second Dr. Clifford left the room.
He shrugged and remained unbothered by my tone, "He only gave me two choices, y/n, and I was sure you wouldn't want to stay in this hospital any longer."
I groaned as I ran my fingers through my hair, "I can't believe you'd do something like this!" I whined.
"Don't act like I'm the only one who did something wrong, Jagiya," he let out a deep chuckle.
"I'm not going anywhere with you, Min Yoongi!"
