Bucky stood facing the vicar, his heart racing. This was it, this was the moment he had been waiting for for so many months. It was his wedding day. His earlier fears and thoughts had faded away as he waited at the alter for his bride.

Her name was Nina, a former ballet dancer, until she was involved in a head on collision. The accident had caused Nina to have the lower part of her left leg amputated off. Thus, the end of her dancing career.

Bucky and Nina had met at a support group for amputees, set up by a charitable organisation. The two adults had immediately hit it off and went out for a coffee.

Eight months later and Bucky finally plucked up the courage to ask Nina to marry him...

...via facetime.

Nina tried watching the television but all that was on were horrors. Not a good option. She then attempted to read a book but the quietness was too distracting. After that, Nina decided to listen to the radio but they were only playing eerie ballads. Eerie ballads, who'd have guessed? Nina finally found herself back to where she had been. Bored and quite frankly needing to be with Bucky but he was on a mission.

She decided that she should go and make herself a cup of tea to calm her nerves. Walking to the kitchen, she found that Bucky had left some pancakes in the fridge. Nina bit her lip and decided that she would eat them. Her stomach grumbled in agreement. Taking them out of the fridge, she placed them on the table and sat down to eat them. Oh wow, they tasted even better cold. Damn, the man could cook.

The sound of her phone receiving a text disrupted the quiet. It was the amazing cook.

She accepted the facetime and was met with a wonderful surprise. It was a Coca Cola can, one of the ones that had someone's name on the side. This particular can that was in full view on the screen read:

Marry Me?

The camera was being moved and the can disappeared and Nina came facetime to facetime with Bucky who was grinning madly. He passed the phone to someone so he could be hands free. Suddenly, the screen was filled with the image of him on one knee, clutching a little velvet box, he opened it, revealing a platinum band with a single emerald. Then Sebastian raised his eyebrows questioningly.

Valerian stared in awe at the phone screen. "Oh my..."

The wedding march began to play, signalling that his bride was about to start walking down the aisle. Bucky could not stop himself from grinning. This was it, the moment they had been waitimg for.

Nina was almost by his side, he was going to see her in her beautiful dress for the first time but as Bucky and Steve began to turn, a sudden explosion ripped through the church, knocking the two avengers off their feet.

Bucky hit the ground, the last image he saw before he fell in the blissful unaware was a terrifying figure walking towards him...

...A replica Winter Soldier.
