Chapter 1
"Damn it!" I say, as I realized that I was late for my flight.
I mixed up the gates and now I had to cross the whole airport to get to the right gate.
I had a flight to South Korea.
I heard that it was the most beautiful in the winter, so I decided to visit it in December.
I would spend Christmas and New Year's there.
In that paradise.
I snapped out of my thoughts, as I arrived to my gate.
But all I could see were people mumbling angrily. And then I heard why they were all so angry.
I heard a middle aged man say: "Can you believe our flight got delayed by four hours? They said there was a problem with the engine or something."
A four hour delay?!
No, this can't be happening.
I ran like I was going to puke, for nothing.
I felt a feeling of slight rage.
I checked my phone to see the time. It was 12 am.
I had to wait until 4 am.
Just great.
I started scrolling through Instagram, but I realized that my phone was at 15%, so I decided to save my battery in case of an emergency.
I slowly started to get hungry, so I went to the tiny supermarket inside the airport.
When I entered, I immediately rushed to the snack isle.
I grabbed A LOT of snacks. Way too many.
But if I was going to wait for four hours, I needed a lot of food to eat.
I hurried to pay, and I saw that the queue was kinda big. But I was hungry, so I had no choice.
My turn came not too long after.
"9 dollars, ma'am." the cashier said, looking bored.
I searched through my wallet, but only found 5 dollars and a credit card.
The cashier said I could only pay with cash.
Crap.
"Uhh I only have 5 dollars. I'll put some stuff back." I said.
"I'll pay for her." said a voice behind me.
I turned, and I saw a pale, handsome man was standing before me.
"Sir, thank you, but there's no need." I replied, my pride not doing too good.
He said nothing, but still took out his wallet to pay.
I could see that he was also buying snacks.
The cashier had surprised eyes, as if she recognized him from somewhere. Why was she nervous?
"O-ok. The total is 14 d-dollars" she said, stammering, and she was smiling ear to ear.
I found that very weird, but I didn't say anything.
He handed the cashier a 20 dollar bill, paying for both of our snacks.
"Keep the change." he added, and then he left with his snacks.
The cashier was still smiling like an idiot.
I felt like the right thing to do was to go and thank him, even though I really didn't want to.
But I still rushed to him, tapping his shoulder.
"Sir." I started. He turned to me, raising an eyebrow. I couldn't see too much of his face, because of his white mask. "I wanted to thank you for paying for me."
"Yeah, don't stress it." he said, looking bored.
I didn't want to bother him anymore, since he didn't look like he was in the mood to talk.
"Alright, well that was all I wanted to say. Goodbye, mystery man." I teased, and I left.
He opened his mouth to say something, but I left before he had the chance to say something.
A/N: I know this chapter is short and I'm sorry.
