He is roughly 10 feet behind us, when his brother trips and I roll into the snow.

"Princess!" He runs over to me

"I'm fine, I'm fine" I sit up

"Ya sure...?" He won't announce it

"Yeah, knees and arms hit the ground nothin' else"

"Alright good" He kisses my cheek and helps me up

"Thought we all had a deal little brother!" His brother starts walking over to us.

"We haven't bothered y'all for months" His crossbow aiming at his brother

"So? She ain't dead, we had a deal"

"She didn't do a thing"

"Yeah she did, she lead 'em onta the farm killin' that lil girl she saved"

"Y'all wasn't protected, how's that 'er fault? Y'all treated 'er like shit when ya didn't know a damn thing 'bout 'er. Treated 'er like a devil, some worthless, useless woman, that she AIN'T" His voice rising

"How many times lil brother"

"Why"

"So I know how many I'll be killin' when I kill 'er"

No...

"Get the hell outta 'ere"

"We had a damn deal and ya broke it!"

"There was no deal. It was the stupidest shit ever"

"Officer Friendly gonna love this" His brother spit and walks away.

Man, this is gonna be real fun...

I stand behind him, after his brother leaves, he turns and hugs me tightly.

"I'm sorry..." He whispers into my ear

"Ya didn't lead 'em 'ere"

"I didn't but I wasn't watchin' ya and the baby..."

"Sunshine ya fine"

I picks me up and carries me inside. He sets me on the couch.

"We are gonna have ta move..."

"I know" I sigh and snuggle under the blanket

"I found a truck, with heat. We can go into town and start over. Just gotta leave before a nice storm so our trail will be covered"

I kiss his cheek, "We will be fine, I know ya will take care of us"

"Forever and always"

Another week passes, we load up the truck as the snow starts to fall. His bike is in the bed of the truck too. I start the truck, get in, and turn the heat on. Sitting under my blanket, I wait to leave.

He hops in, "Don't worry we will come back"

I take his hand and rest my head on his shoulder. He wraps his arm around me and drives. We drive for a few hours before we end up at an untouched town. The dead took it over, but it hasn't been raided. Their staggering is so much slower than how fast they used to be. He get out and clears the street in a matter of minutes. He drives over to an apartment with a garage. He pulls in and shuts the garage door.

"Stay here, I'll make sure it's clear" He says, crossbow in hand.

I nod and he goes off. Not too long later, he comes back, some blood on his face.

"Y'alright? What happened!?" I ask worried, handing him a rag

"Just walker blood, I'm alright love" He cleans his face

"All clear though?" I ask getting out of the truck

He nods and helps me, taking the bags inside. I follow close behind him wrapped in my blanket. It's small, but it's better than a
box or tent. Cozy and humble, just the way I like it.

"We got supplies 'ere. Ain't gotta go far if we need somethin'" He says as he puts the bags on the couch.

"True, there food in here?"

"Cabinets are packed" He opens them

I smile, excited to see all the food.

"Haven't seen this much food since the farm..."

"Why do ya think I brought us 'ere?" He smiles

"'Cause ya love me"

"And the baby" He kisses me sweetly

"How couldn't ya?" I giggle

We get settled in, and attempt not to eat all the food. Yeah it's canned, but it's food! I ate all the carrots, oops. As night quickly falls, I find myself wrapped in a blanket, then his arms, then another blanket, in bed under more blankets. I haven't been this warm since summer. It feels amazing, his arms around me and the blankets. I fall into my slumber and awake the next morning.

"Sleep good princess?" He smiles and kisses my neck

"Very" I smile

"Good. We should be safe here, alright?"

"I know we will. So do you"

"Yeah, but I don' know if they were followin' us..."

"If they was, they won't last"

"Me 'gainst all of 'em?" He frowns a little

"Don' be so upset"

"I can't save ya's by maself..."

"I know, look at this" I smile, get up and go into the living room. I come back carrying a silenced sniper rifle.

"Where the hell did ya find that" He asks in amazement, this is a rare find nowadays.

"While ya was gettin' supplies I was checkin' the gun store that wasn't labeled gun store"

"You left here?!" Not yelling, just concerned

"Yeah dear, I did. I was fine, took my bow and knife. No walkers"

"Don' do that again ya hear?"

"But I watched, none of 'em where 'round"

"Next time, I go with ya"

I nod and stand at the window, looking through the scope of the sniper.
