NIKI STOPPED herself from letting out a shrill scream as she stumbled back into her stall, Gary's head rolling over towards her and Cardan. The girl watched, horrified, as Gary's body fell through the open toilet, landing on Alice and Cindy, who they had failed to pull up.

Tommy blatantly ignored her, though. His attention was now on Ziggy, who was screaming as she ran past the boy. He instantly strung his axe at her, but missed by just a few inches.

Shit. Oh my god. Before she could even take in breaths to calm herself down, Cardan had grabbed her, shoving Tommy out of his way as the two of them sprinted out of the bathrooms, heart pounding fast.

"He... Tommy? What the hell?" Niki yelled to Ziggy as her feet pounded on the grass. She couldn't even look back at the outhouse— she didn't want to see the face of the boy who was about to kill them.

Ziggy ignored her, running as fast as she could. The three of them were covered in blood— Gary's blood, and they had no idea where they were heading to. They had to run away.

Niki wanted nothing except to go home. She wanted to be at the nursery with Phoenix and her brother. She could've convinced Ziggy to stay as well, and right now, they could've been in a convenience store, sneaking out from their families. She wouldn't have come to camp if she knew that Tommy was going into a murder rampage.

The three of them continued running, not knowing where their steps would lead them, until Ziggy suddenly halted to a stop, slamming against a boy. Niki panicked for a slight second, thinking that Tommy had somehow miraculously teleported in front of them, but it was just Nick.

"What are you doing out here?" Nick questioned.

"He's chasing after us!"

"He's here!"

"—the killer!"

Nick looked at the three of them, confused, until he took in a deep breath. "Come on. Follow us."

He grabbed Ziggy's hand and started sprinting away. Niki instantly followed, this time being her the one to grab Cardan's hand as she sprinted as fast as she could. Her heartbeat was pounding in her head, hands shaking, but she had to run.

The four of them eventually headed into the Science and Nature cabin and quickly shutting the door behind them. Nick, the only person who had the key, locked it close, while Cardan and Niki sat into a corner far from the door, whilst Nick and Ziggy sat somewhere else.

"We should not be in here." she whispered, voice shaky. The only thing stopping her from breaking down into tears was the fact that she was too tense to do it. "We should not be here. We should not be here. We should not be here."

"Niki—"

"We should not be here!" The girl hissed, leaning slightly over so Nick and Ziggy could get a better view of her.

"She's right." Cardan chimed in, looking at the two. If he was terrified, he was doing a great job at hiding it. "What if he saw us enter? He'll kill us. He would kill us and there's no way to get out."

"He won't kill you." Ziggy mumbled, looking like she was on the verge of tears as well. Niki could only imagine what she was feeling like; the terror of not knowing if sister was being axed to death or not. "He's only after me and Niki. Shadysiders. It's the curse."

"No. It's just some psycho." Nick hissed. He and Ziggy emerged into a quiet conversation, while Niki leaned onto the table, realization dawning over her.

"Jeremy was the only one dead... he swung after Gary." It was true. The only people who seemed to be dying tonight were people from Shadyside. She wasn't even sure if Shiela, who was knocked out and right there, was killed.
