Not but a few miles outside of Thatberg lay the smoking craters of the Everblack volcano, a system of lava pits and hidden fortresses. Almost every major villain in the past two years of Thatberg's history has called everblack home at some point or other. Near the beginning of Thatberg some genius or other decided "its free real estate" and bought the entire volcano for obscene amounts of money and rented it out to villains.
The current owner of Everblack was none other than the Demon of Ash, Lavaxi. Residing in his ebony throne, the ever reluctant demon let out a long sigh. The magician, lounging on his slightly less ostentatious armchair, closed the book he was leafing through. "You doing OK?" he asked, his face a portrait of concern.
"Yeah..." replied the demon, slouching into a more horizontal position. "I just can't... stop thinking of him". An amused expression spread across the Incomplete's face, "oh?" he said, his mind working slanderous.
"I don't like where this is going" the demon said, his expression a mix of worry and embarrassment. "Oh no, it's nothing much" said the enchanter mischievously, "just cooking up a new scheme is all''.
"I take it you mean stupendio right?" the incomplete probed. Lavaxi let out a long drawn out sigh "yes, i do" he said, his concern for his dignity growing. "I mean, i don't blame you, he is pretty hot" the incomplete said nonchalantly. "Shut!" yelled lavaxi in embarrassment, "my parents should be here any minute now!".
"I take it you'll want me gone for this then mate" said the wizard, slowly standing. The mood in the room had suddenly become a lot more tense. "...yes please" said the demon awkwardly. "Yeah, they can be pretty strict, I'll be right round the corner if anything goes wrong, but hey man, I'm here for you".
The room fell silent as the wizard put a hand on his friend's shoulder in an effort to comfort him, but the body language of the ashen demon told him all he needed to know.
Speed was the name of the game as the incomplete rushed to the other side of the ebony columns. The world seemed to collapse into a single point as two colossal auras bled into the material world. Incomplete had to fight of the urge to scream as his head tried to split itself apart, he could feel blood running down his nose as his mind bordered its limit, and as an occult practitioner he knew the risks even being within miles of this place held. Just as he thought his mind would snap, it was over. With an almost comical pop sound, reality returned to its semi normal state. He span round the column to comfort his friend, but he saw that it was too late...
