As the years passed, Luella grew more and more comfortable around her brothers. They were her family now. She no longer had a mother who cared for her but her older brother who she saw as a father figure towards her.
She had her best friends by her side at all times, they never left her alone.
When she was much younger she always told herself that she would never get used to living without her mother, but here she is, the happiest she'd ever been.
"Luella?" A voice called from behind her bedroom door making her immediately slam her diary shut and stand up to hide it under her mattress. "Come in," she said, taking a seat and picking up her phone casually.
Anastasia, her eldest brother's wife, walked in with her baby daughter in her arms. "I'm leaving to pick up Elijah from football. Do you mind taking care of Daisy till I come back?" she asked smiling
Luella threw her phone on the bed and ran up to grab her baby niece "Take as long as you want" she replied taking Daisy into her arms "Hey baby"
"Do you need anything from the store?" Anastasia asked before she left. Luella shook her head. "I spoke to Adriel and told him to pick up junk for me already, he'll be home soon"
Ana nodded and headed downstairs quickly leaving before her son started an argument about why she was late.
Luella walked downstairs holding Daisy gently in her arms "You're so cute gosh, I love you" she whispered, kissing Daisy's soft hand "But, something smells very vile" she added laughing. She sat on the couch and laid Daisy beside her "Did you poo?"
Daisy just smiled and blinked, Luella shook her head "I'm taking that as a yes, your dad will be home soon anyway, he can clean you up"
"Luella!" A loud voice came after the door slammed shut. "Where are you for fucks sake"
Luella covered the baby's ear and looked behind her "I'm inside Alejo!"
Alejo walked in smiling "Babysitting again" he laughed taking a seat on the other side of Daisy "Hey beautiful" he looked down at her about to pick her up
Luella laughed "I wouldn't pick her up, she did a little shit, and it stinks" she warned her best friend. Alejo looked disgusted "Thanks for the heads up, clean her up then?"
Luella shook her head "Fuck no, Adriel will be home now he can clean his daughter's shit"
