ALICE

"Ugh", I groaned, feeling my head. I must have hit my head against the wall again. Last thing I remember was working on my tracking device; I probably fell asleep working on it. That's what I usually do when I can't sleep. I opened my eyes and noticed that instead of the usual light green walls I had were replaced with a navy blue. This is not my room.

"Good, you're awake. Your friend got you really good." the voice caused me to shoot my head in his direction in alarm. I was not alone.

The man was pretty attractive with blondish silver hair that had a slight curl, and bright blue eyes. He had an angular jaw with slight stubble like he didn't have the time to shave this morning. The stubble was dark brown though, so maybe he had dyed his hair. Looking towards his torso, he had broad shoulders with clear muscle. He wasn't bulky though like some weightlifters.

"Are you checking me out," he asked, amusement clear in his voice. That snapped me out of my momentary lapse in judgement. I quickly scooted back on the bed; getting as far away from the attractive stranger as I could. Moving hurt my head, and made me wish I would have just stayed still. I held my head, hoping the pain would go away; it didn't.

"Who are you," I asked him still clutching my head. There was a bump where my scalp met my forehead, and when I removed my hand I noticed a little bit of blood was there. I tried to touch the bump again, but he quickly stopped me.

"Don't touch, it'll hurt worse if you keep bothering it. My name's Pietro Maximoff, nice to meet you Alice." He had an accent that sounded Russian. I quite liked foreign accents. That just made him cuter. Get your head together, Alice. You don't know him.

"Where am I," by now my head was pounding. He seemed to sense this because he grabbed a bottle of Tylenol, and a glass of water from the table. Taking the medicine, I looked around, noticing that the room looked familiar. That's when it dawned on me. I was back wherever the men in black suits' headquarters was.

"You're in SHIELD Headquarters. You're friend thought it'd be best to keep you away from the fight. She knocked you out, and asked me to bring you to safety." He leaned back and crossed his long legs in front of him.

"Wait a minute, Nicky knocked me out? Oh, she's so dead," I growled trying to sit up again. I was a little more successful this time, only causing my head to hurt a little bit. I think a have a permanent bump! "Where is she now," I asked him, trying to find my shoes.

" She's still with Stark and Steve. You've only been out for ten minutes. I'm surprised you weren't out longer. You must be a tough cookie." He seemed so relaxed, like people firing guns at his friends was a regular occurrence. I looked at him incredulously.

"You mean she's still out there fighting those guys?! What are we here for, we have to help them! Come on," I yelled at him. I located my shoes, bending over to pick them up, black dots danced in my vision. I about fell over, but Pietro was by my side catching me by my waist within seconds. Wow, he's fast!

"Whoa, be careful there. You just about tipped over. Relax, Nicky's with the best heroes I've ever met. Besides, she was doing fine on her own. Did you know she has electricity she can control. She was blasting people left and right when I left. She pretty good for a newbie. Though I shouldn't talk considering I've only been with the program for about six months..." he trailed off when he saw my puzzled expression. "O.K. I guess you didn't know about her powers," he scratched the back of his head, flustered. I pinched my nose, feeling annoyed.

"Like I told Nicky, people can't blast blue sparks from their hands. It's not genetically possible." What's with these people believing these things.

"If you don't believe me then I'll show you," he said, pulling me towards the door. He pulled me towards the corridor, and then he was gone. It was like he disappeared, and then he was back. I blinked once, twice... I couldn't believe it. That's when the world went black again.

Nicky

I tried to keep them off me, but since I didn't know much about combat I was useless, unlike the two heroes next to me. This wasn't what I had planned for today; it was more action then I wanted. Not paying attention, I got blasted into a nearby tree, bruising my back along the way. Iron Man went flying as a few hydra agents blasting them with repulsors like they had done to me. Captain America was deflecting the bullets and arm swings from his former friend now known as The Winter Soldier. I tried to move from the spot I had been thrown to, but to no avail. I was in too much pain.

"Call the rest of the team Cap, can you handle this by yourself until Mr. Temper Tantrum gets here?" Iron Man landed in my view just as Captain America gave him the okay.

"Okay Nicky I'm gonna get you back to the compound to check if you have any internal bleeding." I was hesitant as I didn't want him to poke and prod me since I reluctantly gave in to his arms and I was flown in just as I saw a blue and silver streak. The wind felt good against my face for awhile just as he landed the man who had picked up Alice came back and had caught Alice. Everything was becoming a shit show in a matter of a few minutes, just as that said the Hulk jumped into the forests. I heard people in pain knowing full well it was hulk throwing them around. Stark put me down on the couch and what he does next makes me question him. He opened the bottoms of my shirt and he could see the marks that those agents left I was bleeding and bruised.

"Well that's not good" He whispered looking over for tweezers.

"I can't catch a break from getting hit today can I?" I laughed a little just as I felt the lights flicker and everything went dark.

Alice

Waking up again to the green walls, I realized I was all alone. Pietro was gone. Gripping my head I sat up wincing. My head still hurt, and there was a lump from where Nicky punched me. " I hope that's not permanent or she's going to get it," I mumbled to myself getting up and moving towards the door. Time to find someone to explain this mess. I walked back through the hallway to Stark's lab, hoping he was there.

I opened the door and saw Nicky lying unconscious on the table with bandages over her stomach. "Oh, what did you do now," I mumbled shaking my head.

"She got blasted by HYDRA agents." I turned my head to see Tony behind me. He was tinkering with a computer. He seemed to always be tinkering with something.

"How bad is her injuries. Last time she got into a fish she broke her nose," I said as I took a closer look at her. The only injuries she seemed to have was on her stomach. There was bad bruising, but I think she would be fine.

"Well she's not bleeding internal, nor did hurt any major organs. However she'll be sore for awhile," he responded looking up from his computer.

"Oh too bad," I said sarcastically, "Maybe she'll stop and use her brain next time instead of knocking me unconscious just so she can fight HYDRA agents." He chuckled at that, shaking his head.

"She held her own. She knocked quite a few of them unconscious with her electric blasts. We have rookies who are worse. I'm not saying knocking unconscious was her best idea, but she had your best interests at heart. She was trying to protect you. By the way you have a big lump on your head." He pointed towards the bump that I already knew had formed.

"I know it's from my insane friend," I yelled, pointing towards Nicky.
