It's been years since Naraku was dead water. Years since the miko returned to her time. Inuyasha has been on the move never calling one place home. If he stopped he'd get hurt he said to himself. He'd be the same weak half-demon the miko left behind.

So he moved on from the forest of Inuyasha. He went from the plains, to the ocean, and even to the coves. Nothing felt right. That's how he ended up climbing this ridge on a cold and snowy night.

It was pitch black and the only thing guiding Inuyasha was the trail of blood in the snow. Someone was bleeding, and being the person, or well half-demon, he was he couldn't just leave them to die.

So he trudged up the mountain his feet bleeding the whole way. The brash wind blew his hair wildly around his shivering form. It almost blinded him a couple of times but he kept pushing on. That's when he saw it.

The corpse of Ayame the female omega Koga had taken as his mate. Next to her were the corpses of two pups and next to them was-

"-Koga!" Inuyasha shouted as he rushed to his side.

The wolf prince shivered a simple sign he was alive. Inuyasha sneered, it had been years and their grudge had long been thrown aside. Still there was something in his heart screaming for the wolf prince.

Nevermind that he had to get the alpha to safety. He untied his robe and used his robe tie to help secure Koga's broken arm. With that he lifted the broken prince into his arms.

He gave one final sad glances to the bodies in the snow before trudging down the bloody path he had made. He held the wolf prince close hoping that his body warmth would keep Koga alive till they could get off this damn mountain.

Walking carefully Inuyasha followed his bloody foot prints until the snow storm increased to where he could no longer see the path or his own feet. Koga was turning blue in his arms. He had to get them to safety soon. Looking around Inuyasha spotted a small cave.

Slowly Inuyasha carried the limp Koga to the cave entrance. Carefully setting him down Inuyasha surveyed deeper into the cave. Finding some sticks he set them in the center and began to assemble a small fire.

Inuyasha sighed in relief as the fire finally lit. "That'll do" he mumbled softly to himself before groans came to his heightened ears attention.

Inuyasha looked at the broken prince when a small twinge in his heart made him dash over. Heaving the prince into his lap he held him close by the fire. His ears swiveling as he realized he couldn't hear anyone approaching. No one would be crazy enough to trek around in this crazy weather.

No one except Inuyasha of course.
