Chapter 3 - Secrets Out

Inuyasha was watching as the moon rose when Koga jolted awake. The wolfs ears were almost burned in the fire after his big jump. Inuyasha chuckled to himself before getting up and sitting next to the wolfs head.

"Here open say ahh." Inuyasha teased as he dangled a piece of cooked fish in front of the princes face.

Koga glared but accepted the meat, taking small bites and chewing them thoroughly. When the fish was finally gone Koga laid his tired head back on the cold cave floor.

Inuyasha smiled, small steps had to be taken to nurse the wolf prince back to health. He could heal his wounds but nothing he could do would heal his broken heart.

Hours later Koga slightly stirred in his sleep. Inuyasha had kept the fire going noticing that Koga felt hotter then the flames. Pulling him away from the fire Inuyasha took a look at the wounds on Koga's chest.

They were infected and his broken limbs weren't looking any better either. Inuyasha needed to get him to a healer but there was no way he could move him like this. Sighing Inuyasha searched his mind for his limited knowledge on demon healing.

Suddenly the thought of mate healing popped into his head. It was common knowledge in demon communities that mating could heal both parties if they were wounded. That was sacred though and Inuyasha wasn't one to mate with some random alpha. Especially an alpha that just lost his mate and pups.

Koga stirred but didn't wake, he was shivering from the fever. Inuyasha had to do something or Koga would surely die. Would that be so bad though he thought? Yes yes it would cuz Inuyasha loved Koga. Yes Inuyasha said it even if just in his head. Their rivalry was never over him wanting Kagome. The omega had definitely loved her but not like his love for the strong alpha in front of him.

Inuyasha shook his head, he couldn't seriously be thinking of that right now. He wanted Koga but not like this. No he was doing this to save Koga not to take him for himself. Though dreaded it he'd have to tell Koga of his plan for it to work as sadly the alpha consenting was the most important part.

Nudging the weak wolf in his arms he waited for him to wake. Slowly the prince came to his senses. Shaking his head and groaning Koga looked up into Inuyasha's golden eyes. He blushed but his flushed face covered his embarrassment at staring.

"Koga you're...." Inuyasha sighed wishing he didn't have to make this so dramatic. "You're dying." He stated blatantly.

The wolf blinked before a frown covered his red face. He briefly blinked tears away and looked away from Inuyasha. "Good I deserve it for failing as an alpha-"

"NO!" Inuyasha shouted not realizing how loud he was. Clearing his throat Inuyasha blushed. That really had been too loud.

"N-no you're not  and you didn't fail....whatever that was that killed them played dirty going after an omega and her pups." Inuyasha said solemnly as a tearful Koga started up at him. He prayed his little speech would work.

Koga thought for a while as he started into gorgeous golden eyes. It had been years since he'd seen those eyes. Years since they had made him feel this way. Wolves usually mated for life but what he had never shared with his pack was him and Aye had never actually mated. Yes she had fallen pregnant but they had never done the official mating bite and claimed it was just hidden by clothes.

The reason? Koga had confessed to Ayame he was secretly gay. Since male omegas were rare he knew his pack would have outrage if they ever found out. So the two had married and although she had gotten pregnant it had been by secret lover and not Koga. Ayame and Koga were happy that way and had Koga had made peace with it. Still he cared for Ayame and to see her and her pups, his heirs, die was traumatizing for him.

"So....what do you say we do..."

"The only thing we can do."

"What-"

"-Koga if you wanna live you have to mate with me."
