I spent years wondering around earth. I visited my parents and watched them grow old. There were days I wanted to walk back to her, and hug her, telling her I'm still here. But I knew that wasn't possible.
Then one day I stumbled upon a black headed young lady. She carried your same eyes and smile. I instantly knew she was your child, how can I mistaken. She looked exactly like you did when we were young. I followed her, and she brought me back to you. My heart thumped loudly as I saw you again. You looked older and wiser. You looked happy.
"Reina go help Aries with his tasks, I have an errand to run." You said, your voice sounded mature and lovely. Then that's when it clicked...Aries... you had named your child after me..why?
Your oldest daughter followed your request and I followed behind you. Your carriage then finally came to a stop in front of a wisteria tree and there stood my grave. Ah...the irony. Wisterias are known to symbolize long-life and immortality but here I am dead and frozen in time while other continue moving forward.
I watched you kneel down and place flowers on my grave and whisper sweet words. And before your departure you smiled. "Where ever you are, just know I will always continue smiling like you told me to because it was what you treasure the most." She whispered and left. I stood there paralyzed as I cried my heart out. But no matter what, I do not regret saving her life. I'm happy she's doing okay.
After that I never went back. I went back to my parents and stayed by their side, watching over them and my siblings. My knuckleheads that couldn't get over my death. So many years have passed, yet they still cry for me at their weakest point. My sweet siblings if only I had treated you better when I was alive, forgive me.
Springs continued to pass, winters began to grow longer and summers were shorter. My parents passed away but I never met them in the afterlife. They must've gone directly to heaven, on the contrary I was stuck between the living and the dead.
I watched my siblings grow old and wrinkly and their children have children of their own. I was ready to leave. When I suddenly saw a light I began to walk towards it, and before I crossed I heard my name being called.
"Aries? Aries wait!" How is that possible?
I turned back and there she stood. Her face and body had change but her eyes remained the same.
"Hera? What are you doing here? Are you okay? How was life?" I asked.
"I died but I never imagine to see you again, look at you, handsome as always. Life was tough, but I managed to pull through with my husbands support. Thank you Aries for giving me a second chance...and I'm sorry for everything." She said and pulled me in for a hug. Her body felt fragile and different but her warmth remained the same. Tears involuntarily came out as memories resurfaced. I missed this, I missed her. It was always her.
"I loved the time we had together, but I'm no longer the man you should wait for, darling. It's my time to go. This will be our final farewell my love." I replied with a sadden smile.
She nodded and hugged me tighter. "I missed you so much..." she whispered.
"I missed you more, love. Maybe in our next life we shall meet again, my dear." I said and pulled her away. "I'm ready to move on. This is it, this is the end." I patted her head like I did when we were younger and turned my back to her and walked away into the light.
I felt warmth fill every inch of my body, I felt loved, and my pain finally disappeared. I no longer felt lonely, I felt free.
