Cave Syndrome

Can you believe that once in our life we use to go outside without wearing a mask, without being scared of touching something, and without social distancing? It has been 2 years since we started taking precautions to be safe from the deathly virus but now when we are almost close to the safe zone, why are we scared to socialize?

Many vaccinated people fear socializing again when they finally see the light in the darkness. Especially the introverts who always feared crowds and who always searched for chances to get away from fraternizing and interact. We got used to the online world - online school, online meetings, etc. Many of us prefer staying at home and work instead of waking up early, going to work, and coming back home. Others just prefer to not talk face to face with others. As many places are being opened and people are allowed to roam around, many of us feel agitated about the prospect of abandoning the safety of our home bubble. Do you agree with that? Do you feel the same way? It's called Cave syndrome and it's completely normal!

I have always abominated large crowds even before the pandemic and now the fear is getting worse. Staying at home 24/7 sounds tedious but going outside and seeing large crowds is even more terrifying. Staying at home is making me more hesitant to return back to the pre-pandemic life. However, I have learned to control my anxiety because no matter what happens, there will be one time when I have to leave the safety of my house and socialize. It's better to look at the bright side of a circumstance. Just think about all the places you want to visit or your closest friends you want to meet. Try to meditate or listen to music when you get anxious. Take precautions when you are outside and try to have a positive attitude. Hope this helps all the people suffering from anxiety
