A/N: Once again, I am so sorry for promising updates and never doing so. I've been so busy and my mental health hadn't been at its best for a while. It takes a lot for me to write this because I don't really want to. I just feel obligated because I started it and I still remember the plot I had planned so I might as well finish it. I probably won't update consistently until May because this is a busy month. I hope you're all doing well and thank you so much for your support <3
~~~~~•Sirius POV•~~~~~
I was holding our daughter in my arms while Marlene held our son. I felt exhausted and Marlene looked absolutely drained, but why wouldn't she? She did just spent hours giving birth to our children. Luckily for us, we were smart enough to choose names beforehand because we knew we'd be too tired to think of names at this moment. Although I hate my family and everything they're involved in, I have to say I liked the tradition of naming everyone after celestial bodies. Marlene had told me she liked the tradition too but wanted to make sure I was comfortable with it since it was so related to my family.
Her exact words were "I'm glad you want to continue that tradition, I know your family is full of complete assholes and I wasn't sure if you'd be okay with it or not."
I replied saying "it's the only good thing they have. Also, it'd be fun watching as they go ballistic knowing that I named our children based on a family tradition after they made it clear they wanted nothing to do with me."
"Yes, how could I forget your avidity for drama?"
"I just love chaos. You should know that by now."
"Yeah, anyways back to the names. How about you pick the first name for the boy and the middle name for the girl and I'll pick the first name for the girl and middle name for the boy?"
"Sounds good. I was thinking of Aurora as a middle name and Eris as a first name."
"I was thinking of Venus as a first name and Neptune as a middle name."
"So Venus Aurora Black and Eris Neptune Black."
"Yeah, those sound lovely to me, the only way we can mess it up is if we switch the names somehow."
Marlene and I returned home with the twins two days later. Y/n and Remus were away on their engagement trip. Even if they were in the country and had time to see the twins, they wouldn't be able to anyway since they were only two days old.
"I hope they're enjoying their trip," Marlene said while feeding Venus, "things are going to get much worse very soon and they'll probably go through extended periods of not seeing each other and maybe might not ever see each other again."
"Yeah," I sighed while feeding Eris, "I think they know it too."
Marlene and I put the twins back in their cribs as our owl returned from Remus and Y/n.
"They sent separate letters this time," Marlene groaned, "I don't have the energy to read two letters right now. I'll read Y/n's out loud and you can read Remus's out loud and we'll just both hope they didn't put anything extremely personal or anything that's just extremely fucking weird."
"Okay, I'll read Remus's out loud first. Ahem.
Dear Sirius and Marlene,
Congratulations on the twins! Glad everything went smoothly and that Marlene is doing well. Marlene, please make sure you take your time and take the rest you need and deserve. Sirius, you're such an arse, you're so lucky I had already proposed to Y/n. She said yes by the way. Also, thank you for warning us about the Death Eaters. We did see some in Amsterdam and it was a frightening experience. Anyways, we'll see you guys when we come back. Take it easy, not you though Sirius, you dog.
- Remus
Wow, what the fuck he's so mean to me."
~~~~~•Marlene POV•~~~~~
"I mean you did write some weird shit in the letter you sent didn't you?"
"Not the point."
I sighed, "okay I'm just going to read Y/n's letter now.
Dear Sirius and Marlene,
First off, go fuck yourself, Sirius. I hate you. Secondly, congratulations! I'm sure you guys will make great parents!
- Y/n
"Okay, but the difference in their writing is so fucking funny," Sirius remarked.
I laughed. "They both shit on you though."
There was a silence.
"I'm worried Sirius," I began, "about the war and all that. We have two kids now. What if one of us dies? What if something happens to them? I couldn't live with myself if-"
"Marlene," he cupped my face, "it'll be okay."
"You don't know that."
"You're right, I don't. But we need to believe everything will be okay and that we can deal with anything that happens."
"You're right. I believe in us enough to believe that. I love you, Sirius."
"I love you, Marlene."
