Morena Haywethern stared out across the water, the moonlight dancing on its surface. The chilling night wind sent shivers down her spine. She adjusted her position on the slippery sufface of the rock she was sat on and took in a long breath of the salty air.

She always made sure she savoured moments like these, moments outside.

Moreana's family kept her in most of the time. Keeping her shielded from the cruel kingdom she lived in.

It wasn't that they were punishing her, really they were protecting her.

She carefully slid off the rock and her feet landed on the damp, soft sand.

She made her way to the waters edge, the gentle sound of waves echoing in her ears.

Gathering up the hem of her night-dress she slowly strode into the icy yet refreshing water, the waves pushing against her every move.

She stood for a while in the tranquil moment as she swayed back and forth with the breeze.

She turned around scanning the cove for people.

Nobody.

Just a little bit won't hurt anyone.

Moreana tucked up the hem of her dress and moved her hands over the water.

She closed her eyes and emptied her mind.

With a mere flick of her wrist a sphere of water shot up between her hands.

She let out a small giggle of happiness at her creation.

As she began to move her arms the sphere moved with her.

She became more creative morphing the sphere into different things, first simple shapes then animals and people.

What she had failed to realise is that whilst she was entertaining herself the more power she used, the rougher the sea became untill suddenly she had created a fully fledged storm above the cove.

Lighting sparked and thunder cracked in the sky.

Somehow Moreana failed to realise what was happening she was so occupied with her sphere.

She continued to play giggling away to herself as the storm kept raging.

The wind ripped at her thin translucent night gown trailing it into the sea. Her flaming hair escaped its tightly wound plait and started to whip around her face like a lions mane. Despite this she continued intently focused on the water between her slightly glowing hands.

A voice broke through the storm "MOREANA YOU MUST STOP"

Moreana still couldn't hear.

"MOREANA STOP IT THIS INSTANT OR YOU'LL BE FOUND" the voice was desperate now

The sphere dropped to the water with a splash and yet the storm kept raging.

Moreana turned around her arms limp at her sides her eyes glazed over as her night gown dragged in the water. Her hands shone brighter radiating pale blue rays.

"MOREANA PLEASE" Fear clung to his words.

"STOP, STOP NOW" He yelled as he began to wade into the sea.

At last he reached her and grabbed her hand. It was as cold as ice.

"MOREANA IT'S ME YOUR FATHER. MOREANA PLEASE STOP IT, PLEASE"
His tone was urgent.

He pulled her cold wet body into a grappling hug and rocked her gently.

"father?" she whispered in a raspy voice.

Suddenly her eyes cleared and the storm began to calm as her father carried her to the shore.

He laid her down on the sand and stroked her damp hair as she began to shiver.

"I'm s-so sory-y-y fa-ather." she kept muttering, her teeth chattering with the cold.

"it's ok my darling." he whispered to her gently.

He helped her to her feet and they began on the steep climb back up to the warmth of the Manor.
